Earth Heart Promise

by John Graham

This is a special time in the history of our planet as she nears her great transformation in 2012. Prophecies from the Mayan, Hopi and other native traditions indicate that Earth is due to complete a 104,000 year cycle at this time which will result in her ascending to a new level of consciousness. She will keep this appointment with or without human co-operation. It has become common for us to speak of Earth healing but the fact is that Earth remains intrinsically intact, despite the fact that modern humans continue to amass a destructive capacity to inflict ever greater damage on the stability of her eco-systems. We cannot destroy her, however – only ourselves and much that she has managed to grow over millions of years of co-evolution.

It is primarily human consciousness that is out of balance. Earth has suffered the consequences willingly, having agreed to host our experiment in freedom, despite knowing that this would be likely to introduce kinks in the unfolding of the Divine Plan. Nonetheless, she has closed herself against the degrading impact of our forgetful, violent actions. We were meant to be her stewards. This involves taking steps to ensure that she can play her full part in the great adventure of the Cosmos. Her present state of closure makes this impossible. Earth has become isolated and cut off. Thus she must take what seem to us like catastrophic steps to keep her 2012 appointment. We recoil in dread as she unleashes the awesome power of earthquakes and tsunamis, not realising that these destructive manifestations are a reflection of our dispositions as co-creators. (Consider the cumulative impact of nuclear testing, for instance.)

As stewards of Earth, we come here to discover our inherent creative powers. We do this in two main ways: by noting the negative impact of our unbalanced, exploitative actions and by noting the potentially much greater positive transformations we can bring about by aligning our creativity with that of Earth, the Universe and Spirit. Instead of acting in such an integrative, co-ordinated way, however, we humans have tended to act as if we were somehow apart from and superior to everything around us. Our mistakes have caused Earth to seal herself off in defence of her inner integrity, just as they have caused Faery and the nature spirits to withdraw. This means that Earth is currently not in right relationship with the rest of Creation, a state of affairs that cannot be sustained now that her promised transformation is imminent.

As Lightworkers, we must serve to facilitate Earth’s transition at this milestone stage of her journey through space-time, assisting her changes to come more easily than is currently possible. It is still possible to achieve a smooth transformation. We can promote this by calling on higher spiritual powers for help. This is an integral part of remembering our own connectedness and creativity. As humans who are drawn by such work, we are here to help Earth come back into balance and right relationship. Each of us has a unique gift to offer in this respect. We find out what it is as we realise the answer to our own deepest question: what am I for?
To know what I am for is to know what my creativity is. This is closely aligned with my sense of purpose. However, it can only become apparent in relation to the well-being of Earth and the Universe of which she is a part. I can only discover and express my essential creativity in relation to this greater context of my life. Recent breakthroughs in science reveal exciting new perspectives on these matters which have brought modern humanity to the threshold of a new spiritual worldview. We now know, for example, that about fifteen billion years ago something happened which we call the ‘Big Bang’ – i.e., a first, impossibly dense concentration of energy into matter burst apart, giving rise to all the forms and rhythms that we know as the Cosmos. Before this first infinitesimal speck of matter exploded into existence, there was no-thing at all. Thus our scientific culture has now produced a story about its origin which tells that there was in the beginning a point at which something arose out of nothing – in other words, a point at which a manifest world arose out of the unmanifest, or Void. Before this, there was no time, no space, nothing we can speak of or imagine in any way.

This arising of the manifest world proves to have been a highly ordered process. For example, if the Universe’s rate of expansion following the Big Bang had been even infinitesimally faster than it was, no structure more complex than an atom could ever have emerged. Likewise, if it had been infinitesimally slower, the Universe would have collapsed back into itself after only a million years, again having created nothing more complex than a wave of hydrogen atoms. This example also illustrates a more general point: namely, that creativity flourishes within the context of an appropriately balanced relationship between the recessive yin force of gravity and the expansive yang force triggered by the Big Bang.

Earth occupies a special place in the unfolding of the Universe due to the finely balanced relationship she enjoys between electromagnetism and gravity. On Mars, for example, electromagnetic forces eclipse gravity. Hence complex molecular bonds are established and hold form easily. The result is a planet of solid rock. On Jupiter, which is far bigger, gravity wins out. Electricity cannot produce stable forms because gravity constantly undoes all attempts at novel combination. The result is a gaseous planet. Earth, given her balanced relationship between gravity and electromagnetism, is marked by a creative tension between structure and flow, such that form can be built and held before becoming liable to effects of transformation. Consider the creative power of Earth’s molten core, for example. This gives birth to continents, tidal waves and mountain ranges over time. Thus beauty and diversity flourish on Earth incomparably more than in any other location known to us. Hence she is recalled in our mythologies as a ‘Garden’. In time, she produces nightingales, symphonies, cathedrals and us, who gaze in awe and wonder.

The important point here is that the Universe – including Earth – is a highly creative environment. Human creativity has to be understood in relation to this environment. Now the creativity of the Universe and Earth proceeds initially from a Zero Point of Origin at the Heart of the Big Bang, the place where something first came out of nothing. This is the place where Creation first occurred – the Centre. In the mythologies of all primal peoples, everybody wants to get back to this Centre, to come in contact with the special energy of Creation that is available there. Even now, we seek to journey to our Centre, hoping to discover our own creative power and realise it in our lives. On a Universal scale, this Centre is literally the Heart of Creation. For us, our Heart centre is also the heart of our personal creativity, the place in us through which Creation streams.

This is an essential point that our modern world lost sight of and which we must now labour to recall: there is a stream of creativity constantly flowing through the Universe, from Void into manifestation. We are late fruits of this streaming and have the power to align ourselves so that it can flow through us also. Such alignment brings the essence of magical creation into our lives.

Tom and I have been learning a lot about these matters by working with our guides. We have also been learning what a Garden community might be like on Earth by working with guidance from Spirit on Tom’s farm. More recently, we have been guided to develop ‘essences’ which work to allow us and all beings to remember who we are and what we are for. This work has allowed us to remember our own creativity and to arrive at a sense of what it is to work from our own Heart centres. Amazingly, we find that to work from our Hearts is also to work from the Heart of Earth and, beyond that, the Heart of Creation. Such knowing can only be shared through experience. Consequently, Spirit has guided us to share our work experientially with other people.

We are currently offering a series of workshops based around ideas presented in this article. In the series, working with inspiration from our teachers, we show you how to come into your Heart, how to commune with Heaven and Earth in so doing, and how to produce essences that will help both to uncover and express your own creativity. The workshops are ‘Sacred Marriage, Holy Land’, ‘A Way with Fairy’ and ‘The Alchemy of Heart’. Details are available at www.sacredplay.info or by telephoning John at 095-43664 or Tom at 056-77-29221 (mobile 086-8096812).
