| Glendalough was probably the best
hike of the year so far. The weather was fantastic, and there was a
good turnout. We hired a bus to drop us at the hotel in the morning and
then pick us up later on at the pub :-)
We walked from the carpark between the 2 lakes straight up Camaderry, along the ridge to the resevoir, and then back along the road to the pub (in the dark). I think it was a bit hard for a lot of people at the start, but once we got onto the ridge, things started to look up. From the top of the road (near the resevior) we were followed by Billy the goat. He tried to eat my bag, then me, but refused the pieces of apple I offered. What a weirdo! And he wouldn't feck off! He even followed us into the pub and stuck his head in the open fire. Bus was late, but we were in the pub, so who cares really. Great day out!! |
