With only weeks away to the next Intervarsity competition which is being held in NUI Galway, everyone is looking to improve their scores they got at the DCU's competition.
19/11/2011 First Night Out
Last night was our first night out of the year. We headed to Leisureplex in Coolock for some fun games of Bowling and games of Pool afterwards.
While we "forgot" the camera, it's safe to say everyone had a good night. Mental note to everyone - if you want to play and win in pool, you need to have Dave as your partner in the doubles game. The guy is good!!!!!
12/11/2011 DCU's IV Competition
We hosted the first IV competition of the college year. DCU's team came third in the competition. D.I.T came in second and UL were the winners of the day
Our college team made of Mark Sharvin, Adam McSweeney, Sarah Moloney, Stephanie Martin and Austin Tobin scored a total of 2526 points. There were literally only 5 points between us and the winners UL.
Other points to note are Gemma Fallon and Martin Kenny both scored over 400 points in the beginner section and have now become Advanced Archers. The two new members shooting on the day, Séamus Twomey and Cillian Byrne did very well scoring above 320 points each.
WELL DONE EVERYONE!!
05/11/2011 Intervarsity Competition Hype
With only a week away to the first IV competition, the team are focusing on their unique style and performance. Some new members of the club will also get a chance to shoot in the competition but for now everyone is focusing on their own shooting style.

Not all positions were filled at this meeting so therefore an E.G.M will have to be held during the first semester of the next college year.
09/04/2011 UL Intervarsity Finals
Congratulations guys on winning the Intervarsity Competition for the third year in a row.
Congrats to the following people for their achievements throughout the league:
Stephanie Martin placed fourth in the Compound section. Sarah Moloney placed ninth in the Female Recurve section. Shane Jordan, Mark Sharvin and Adam McSweeney placed seventh, eighth and ninth in the Male Recurve section. Dave Boyle placed eleventh in the Male Recurve section.
Well done to everyone who had shot at any of the competitions throughout the year.

The final IV competition took place in Limerick this weekend. DCU again finished in a strong first place, beating off competition from UCD and UL. Colin Griffin finished second in the Compound section. Cian O'Sullivan finished 3rd in the Recurve section, breaking his 500 score in the process. Anna Metyk finished a very close second in the Beginner section, breaking into the Advanced section in the process! A very well done to all involved!
The final standings in the ISAA IV League were also announced after the UL IV. Congratulations to Colin Griffin who finished 1st place overall in the Compound section. Congratulations to Michele Peporte and Aine McMahon who finished 2nd and 3rd place respectively in the Female Recurve section. Congratulations to Mark Sharvin who finished 3rd in the Male Recurve section, with hard luck to Shane Jordan who finished 4th. Congratulations also to the DCU team, who walked away with 1st place in the Team section, with Colin Griffin, Mark Sharvin, Shane Jordan, Michele Peporte and Aine McMahon contributing the most points for the team score. An excellent year indeed for the club!!

The DCUAC AGM is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 21st April at 6pm after training. Committee positions will be elected in and a review of the year will take place.

Another competition, another win for DCU Archery Club! The team score consisting of Shane Jordan, Colin Griffin, Mark Sharvin, Aine McMahon and Austin Tobin beat off renewed competition from UCD and UL to extend our lead at the top of the league. Colin Griffin also placed second in the Compound section, putting him in 1st place in the Compound League with one competition to go. Shane Jordan is in 2nd place in the Male Recurve League, with Mark Sharvin none-too-far behind in 4th. Michele Peporte is in 2nd in the Female Recurve League with Aine McMahon hot on her heels in 3rd. It looks like the final league IV in Limerick is going to be an interesting one indeed!

Another great day for the team! DCU came first once again, beating off the competition by nearly 200 points. Colin Griffin came first in the Compound section and David Boyle came second in the Beginner section.
Other points to note were Aine McMahon breaking the 500 score and our three beginners Deirdre NiInglisNiEideain, David Boyle and Alan Hallowed all breaking their 400 score to become Advanced Archers!
