It’s Art Week Everybody!

It’s a jam-packed week of….well…Art!

Here’s what we have on, hope to see y’all there ;)

Mon 28th
“Hanprint Wall” with An Cumann Gaelach-The Hub 11-3
There will be a board in the Hub during the day where people can leave their handprint, in paint, and have their name written in Irish beside it.
Facepainters as a type of official opening to Art Week

Card-making Workshop C167 @6pm
With Christmas coming up we’ll be showing members how to make simple but beautiful Christmas Card
Tue 29th

Japanese Calligraphy Workshop CG05 @6pm
Japanese Soc and Art Soc come together for this workshop
Wed 30th
Exhibition of Art Work so far 12-3pm
We shall be displaying any art work we have done this year in the Hub during the day. We have some very talented members and some lovely pieces

Art Attack Competition c114 @6pm
We will set memebers grouped in pairs/threes the task of recreating some of Art’s most famour paintings using any of the materials we have available.
There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place

Film night C114 @6pm
Viewing of “Art School Confidential” to wind things down for the week (pizza!)
Fri 2nd Dec

Nail Art/Henna Art workshop CG02 @6pm
Following last week’s successful workshop this will be another opportunity to learn the nail art trade. This is a sign up workshop only! ONLY 10 places so first to email me will get a go :) jill.mcmahon9@mail.dcu.ie
Henna Art will also be taking place for those who didn’t get a nail art space :)

This Tuesday we are having the first ever Nail Art Workshop! Meet us in C124 @6pm for some nail pampering, wine, chocolate and chat :)

Set Design
It’s time to put your thinking caps on and your skills to the test as we hope to get the sketches for what Panto’s Crappily Ever After set will look like created on Tuesday!

Ashling Project
Art Soc member Ashley has a fantastic project with kids oin Ballymun centre underway! Check it out on facebook http://www.facebook.com/groups/284268178270229/
If there is enough interest on Tue evening to get involved we hope to get a group down to the centre there and then to continue work!

Open Days
DCU Open Days are on Friday and Saturday and we’re looking for facepainters to make our mark on campus :)

This week we won’t be holding a workshop but we’ve something very important to do instead! We’re looking for volunteers to design and paint the set backdrop for The Christmas Show the Ballymun kids will be putting on. We’ll be meeting at 3pm outside the Helix and heading down to the Aisling Project from there on Tuesday and Thursday. Any help you can give at al will be much appreciated!
