Political Companss:
Fun with the Political compass from
Back Seat Drivers. I've seen this before through previous fourms, and initially thought it was the best thing since sliced bread, now I'm not so sure, a lot of the questions are quite loaded (
People are ultimately divided more by class than by nationality.) and seem to be straight away from a leftish perspective, which is fair enough as rightish views are quite hard to put into words, but others just leave no wriggle room (again i suppose that may be the point of the test..) such as
"If economic globalisation is inevitable, it should primarily serve humanity rather than the interests of trans-national corporations."
..which implies that the interests of trans-national corporations are in principal preculded from being the same as those of humanity. and...
"There are no savage and civilised peoples; there are only different cultures." ...which precludes the 3rd option, that all cultures are basically the same and no more savage or civilized than one another . Other questions like the one on faith based schools betray the american heritage of the test somewhat.
Incidentally I'm Economic Left/Right: -0.38, Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.06, which is a pretty odd score, nobody on the little chart is like me, you know I think this goes a long way towards explaining a lot of the worlds problems!!!
