Enchanted Device Generator for Ars Magica (4th Edition)
I’ve created a script that generates the costs for creating a Enchanted Device (based on the rules for Ars Magica 4th Ed.).

The page updates automatically as you input values or change options. This allows you to ‘tweak’ the values so that for example you only invest as much vis as you need. It’ll also tell you when you can’t create your device. It’ll also recognise when the device your creating can be done as a Lesser Enchanted Device. It does not include any house rules.
The page does not handle Talismans or having multiple effects in the one device. Well at least not right now. This is a work in progress, as is everything on this site.
I’d recommend first trying to create a device just using the book. That way your a little familiar with the formulas, which is a big boon when you try to tweak the settings of your device. I’ve tried to be informative as I can on the page but it’s not easy to programmaticlly suggest advice.
Oh and it’s best viewed in something other than Internet Explorer. You can still use Internet Explorer, it’s just better using something like Mozilla or Opera.

Cool, it’s going to be really handy.
Works perfectly under IE but it just keeps saying updating under Mozilla/5.0

Weird. It works fine in Opera and IE. I dont’ have Mozilla installed here so I haven’t tried it.
The only difference is that in Opera, the floating summary on the right is fixed on the screen. i.e. if you move down the page, you’ll still see the summary while in IE it’ll disappear when you scroll down.

Well, I’ve fixed it now in Mozilla. Seems Opera and IE are a little more tolerant when using names and ids. I’d recommend Mozilla or Opera, just because you have the floating summary to your right. Very easy to see what effect changing anything has.

Yep that did the trick!
