The Wayward Sire
‘After the festivities of the last few months, the attack of the fifty foot fish monster, the marriage of Murchard to the Falconi woman, we were ready to have an easy year. After all plans were afoot for a flying ship, and in all the world, how many ill-fated plans had started with ‘Flying Ship’. ‘Flying Monkeys, different story’
‘But, when Ludo Vico announced that his former Master was in trouble with a quaeistor, and since we had nothing better to do, myself (the Honorable Wilhelm VanSarr) and Murchard (who thankfully decided to leave his ball and chain at home) decided to accompany the Magus Vico his former master’s new covenant.’
‘It must be said that Ludo didn’t give all the information concerning this state of play. If he had, he would have found himself in a ditch somewhere far away from his beloved money. In truth, Vico’s former master had allied himself with a notable, perhaps powerful, local Abbott and supplied him with a powerful magical artifact that made the walls of the Abbot’s Monastery. Our arrival, however, suspiciously coincided with the final twilight of Ludo’s master. Suddenly, we went from innocent bystanders to hip deep in a quesitorial action by one of those ‘Hang’m High’ kind of Quaeisator, along with his burn-first-and-damn-the-questions Flambeau.
‘While the junior member of his covenant were somewhat glad of our assistance, there was an underlying mistrust, especially on the part of fellow Tremere, and new head of the covenant, Giovanni. After discovering a number of clues in the deceased Magus’ chambers, it was decided, after much discussion with Vico about his interpertation of Hermetic law, that solving the problem for the covenent (and more importantly the Quaesitor) was in our best interest. The up side to this is that we took the powerful artifact home to our covenent and that the Quaesitor in question has slightly less of a reason to order our expulsion from the order. So, yay us!’
