So.. you clicked on the link to bring you here. So you either want to know about me or you already know me and want to know what I wrote about myself :o)

Mera naam Conor O' Kane hai and I am a 23 year old software developer with a B.Sc. in Computer Applications (aka Computer Science) from Dublin City University, Ireland.

After graduation I worked as a Developer Support Representative with Microsoft UK at a call centre in Dublin. In this job I learnt a lot about .Net stuff and many MS products I had previously never heard of. I already had played with C# since the beta compiler came out but got a lot more experience in my time with Microsoft obviously.

I left this job to do an AIESEC traineeship in Jaipur, India with a company called Compucom Software Ltd doing Java software development. I got a lot of valuable experience in this job on software development practises and a lot of trends and technologies in Java development as well as other aspects of the business.

I have completed my work in Jaipur and have now returned to Ireland and am currently working for a large firm as a consultant on IT security and Risk Management projects for clients.

In my spare time I try to learn languages and improve my fluency in ones I already have some knowledge of. I find language learning challenging and it requires a lot of discipline from me which is part of the reason I do it. Mostly I do it because I love to travel and to communicate with people in their own native languages where possible.
