Robin makes a comic!

Comic Soc's very own Secretary, Mr. Robin Caffola, has taken a stab at creating his own comic....

As you can see, it's incredibly wonderful. The attention to detail, artistic style, uniquely original wit and controversial subject matter combine to form what is quite clearly a masterpiece.

We can only dream of what magnificence Robin will create next. Of course if you members out there have any works of art of your own, be sure to email us or speak to anyone on the committee and let us know. We'll be sure to upload and place them on our website for you :)

Join Comic Soc!

With Clubs and Socs Day fast approaching, here are a few good reasons to join one of DCU's newest and most interesting societies.

Comic Soc was set up by Conor Lynch and a few other interested students right at the end of the 2006/07 academic year, with the aim of creating a society where DCU students can get together and share their love of comics.

We've got loads of new ideas and we'll be running some great new events over the year, so whether you're an avid fan, or you've never even one picked up a comic book before, this society will have something for you!

Here are some of our aims for the year:

• Comic Library - buying in lots of cool comic books for the members to borrow free of charge.
• Discussions - having a place for students to discuss comics.
• Nights Out - getting the members together and going out.
• Movie Nights - watching film adaptations of all our favourite comic books.
• Our Own Publication - releasing compilations of comics and other material sent in by our members.
• Comic Convention - holding a comic book convention right here in DCU!

New Website Online

The new Comic Soc website is now online!

Comic Soc, one of DCU's newest societies, now has its own website.

We'll be using this site to keep everyone in touch with the latest Comic Soc news and information throughout the year. You'll be able to find photos from all our events in our gallery, as well as links to recommended comics and even those created by our members!

Look out for new additions to all areas of the site in the coming weeks and months as the society progresses.
