A Bit of Despair

Xenogears MUCK: IC Messages: A Bit of Despair
By Jalon on Wednesday, August 15, 2001 - 06:00 am:

Suddenly waking up in an infirmary of some sort, Jalon finds himself laying on his back, bandages wrapped around his head and right eye. His hand instinctively reaches up to his eye, his fingers running across the soft material slowly. What had happened? The last thing he remembered was being in his Gear during his training provided by Kislev, then...............

Jalon grunted as his Gear was rocked from the side thanks to a punch delivered by one of the other Gears on the field. Over the comsystem he could hear orders and instructions being barked at him, trying to train him in the finer points of Gear combat, shaping him into more of a pilot. He twists Kumori around, sending the Gear's fist into the Kislevi Gear's face, pulling the arm back and running the taloned fingertips through the head. However, he takes another hit from the back, and he shakes violently in his cockpit as Kumori seemingly goes into convulsions. Another Gear approaches him from the front, and drawing back its fist, the opposing Gear drives it into Kumori's chest, directly on the cockpit hatch. Inside, Jalon is thrown about slightly, and he prepares to rip the Gear in the front to shreds. However, the last hit he took was too severe on the cockpit, and the roof of the structure gives out, sending a sharp piece of shrapnel slicing down Jalon's right eye. The young martial artist reflexively grabs his eye as a small explosion forms near his left leg. And then.........darkness........................

Jalon sits up on his infirmary bed, alerting the medical authority in the room with him. "Doc...what happened to me?" The medical officer merely shakes his head. "I'm sorry son.....you've lost your eye. There was nothing we could do to save it......."

A fist grabs the medical officer's shirt and literally slings him across the room. His jaw clenched tightly, Jalon dresses in his clothes and briskly steps out of the infirmary, the bandages still wrapped on his head.

---Medical Report: Jalon Thancrus---

From: Kyle Darinian, M.D.

Patient has suffered a critical blow to the right area of the face, caused by a falling piece of structural metal. A rather deep gash was recieved from the right forehead region to the right cheek, crossing over the eye and causing irreversable damage. The damage taken will leave a scar, and the right eye will be inoperable, and has therefore been removed. Patient has also received slight burns on the outside left-thigh, however, this is mild and will heal in due time.
