Considering all matters, it could have turned out a lot worse. When he thought back on it, it seemed foolish that someone could have wandered the halls of Solaris with such an obviously non-regulation weapon. Every security system had it's slip-ups, supposed Amaliel, and now that the ones in Solaris had been revealed, it was time to fix them.
He let the twin Kukhri blades work around him as he trained with them like extensions of his natural reach. They had a natural grace and balance, but he still had a long way to go until he got even what he would call decent with the weapons.
Discreetly, he had passed the suggestion along that anyone wearing a full face-plate while on guard duty would be assumed to be suspicious, and taken into custody for questioning. This really should have been done earlier, but no use to lament, better to just fix. Another good idea would be for the Solarian soldiers to just carry their regulation pistols as weaponry. Guns were more accurate and lethal anyway.
He paused in his training to sheathe the blades on the same side of his hip, and reach up to gather the bright blonde strands of hair back from his bluish eyes - somehow they had slipped free of the tightly tugged ponytail. He readjusted everything into place, pulling the elastic free of his hair and then pulling his hair through it until it was firmly in place. Hiking his shirt up over his shoulders, he felt relief as the cool air hit his exercise-warmed skin. Only a little more practice - he really shouldn't be away this long anyway. The blades slid from their sheathes again.
After all, where would Solaris be without it's leader? Where would Amal be without the companionship? Perhaps nowhere. Certainly not training with a pair of weapons that were a gift.
That was enough. He disengaged the training program he'd been using, and slid the blades back into their sheathes again. Crouching, he gathered his shirt from the floor and slung it around his shoulders, noticing that the tan on his chest needed a bit of work. There was time for that later.
For now it was back to work.
