Bledavic Multpilies Special Report!

Xenogears MUCK: IC Messages: Bledavic Multpilies Special Report!
By Joseph on Sunday, March 11, 2001 - 03:40 am:

As the day of the Tournament grows ever closer, we here at the Bledavic Multiplies have not been idle. We've gathered together profiles on five of the best gears and their pilots.
The town of Dazil is out in force as three resident Gebler officers all joined up in the gear division. Lieutenant Kalssa, formerly of the Gebler Anti-Gear Soldiers, and now in Cobalt Wing, is piloting the Galia, a briliant orange gear.
The Galia, as are all of the Gebler gears, is a custom made model, created from salvaged parts. The ether generator has a rather unique design, chaneling the power through the gear's eyes, so all you fans out in the audience should be able to judge how strong he's going to be hitting his opponents. Combined with a fierce fighting style, the Galia is a well ballenced gear. It remains to be seen if it can muster enough power to contend with its more specialized opponents.
Also from Gebler is Seargent Kale, piloting the Quetzel. The Quetzel, another salvaged gear, is fashioned after its pilot- draconic! Spulimenting its claws, talons, and wings, are a powerful sword and a military specifications machine gun. The effect is topped off with a custom made tail, a unique prothesis crafted exculsively for the Quetzel by its pilot. The fan's are looking forward to seeing it in action.
Head of the Gebler entering the tournament is the renouned Colonel Richardson. He'll be piloting the Matama Mark LXVII, another salvaged gear. While the Galia and Quetzel show ingenuity and craft in their design, the Matama looks like the Colonel took a bunch of oddly shaped parts and welded them into a stupidly large gear. The same goes for its weaponry: He purchased the entire Aquavy guns stock, and bolted them onto his gear. What it lacks in ellegance and finesse it makes up for with brute force.
This is not to say the only gears are military! Agani entered the Adauchi, a sleek gear reliant on speed and power. Although it has a slight frame, Agani is confident that he will be able to defeat his opponents before damage becomes an issue. His gear is equiped with some sort of whip... details are still sketchy, but it's clear that the Adauchi is a no-frills, win quickly design.
And there's been a bit of controversy regarding this unknown entrant -- there have been unconfirmed alligations made regarding the mysterious death of Agani's father involving Colonel Richardson. Although Seargent Kale was quick to leap to his superior's defence, denying these rumors, Lieutennant Kalssa, no longer under Colonel Richardson's direct command, was unable to deny these alligations. Agani himself declined to comment on this matter.
Finally, we touch upon a black horse entrant: a solitary pilot known only as Xeero. His past a mystery, he's entered into the tournament along with his gear, the Dark Angel. All that is known is that he had chosen not to use his autocannons in the fight. He beleives that the victory would be to easy, an honorless victory. A man of few words, he has entered the tournament not seeking glory, but combat!
Along with others, these few proud warriors will fight for a chance at immortality: a solid statue of silver or gold in the royal castle. To fight for

Casske sighs gruffly as he reads over the his copy of the Bledavic Multpilies.

"Kalssa? Sonofa..."

He snorts agrily as he once again reads the passage. "...Lieutennant Kalssa, no longer under Colonel Richardson's direct command, was unable to deny these alligations." His teeth grit slightly. He pulls out his palm unit and opens a file titled 'My -list-'. He adds the name Stewart Jones to the bottom, directly under 'guy who stole my peppermint candies in Solaris.'

FIRST HAND TO HAND FIGHT AN UPSET

Already the tournament has brought fast moving, hard hitting action to the loyal fans. Yesterday's fight was anything but tame, moving from a clash of weapons to an exchange of fisticuffs.
The fight was between Clod Strife, a young man weilding a pair of whips, and an even younger man named Fei, who chose a staff as his weapon. Clod, the heavy crowd favotie, was defeated by his opponent after a heavy clash of arms.
Although Clod's whips appeared to give him an early lead, landing a few unopposed hits, Fei swung the battle by rushing into Bart's range and landing a fairly painful strike to the gut.
Clod attempted to regain controll of the fight by binding Fei with both whips, but was outmaneuvered when Fei once again drove towards his opponent. Indesperation, Clod dropped his whips in a ploy to throw Fei off balance. Unfortunately Fei regained his stance too quickly to do poor old Strife any good. The rest of the match was an exchange of blows, and while Fei tosses his weapon aside near the end, the advantage it gave him let him win the match through sheer damage delt.
Fei will be moving ahead in the rankings, while poor Clod has to sit in the boxes and watch. He should have realized that the tournament can only have one winner, and that it wasn't destined to be him.

GEARS, ARENA BADLEY DAMAGED

Last night the entire Aveh Arena was shaken by the titanous clash between the Matama and the late entering Dross. The Dross, a lightly built gear with a pair of machineguns, had to be towwed off the field. Then again, so did the victor, the Matama.
The fight entered with the Matama attempting to get the advantage of hight. The Dross responded by shooting at it, which was in turn answered by a hail of lead and death from the Matama's cannons. The Drosses machiineguns were having roughly the same effect as spitting at a thunderstorm.
Seeing the futility of his position, the Dross flew into the air and landed a solid punch, knocking the Matama to the ground like a child's toy made by Kislevi factories. Suprise was once more on the Matama's side, however, as it later launched a salvo of missiles at the Dross.
Immediately after the salvo, the Dross made its most effective attack of the fight: a hail of gunfire detonated the Matama's missile racks, creating the first gear moutned sun roof. Kicking its jets in to escape, the Matama carreened accross the arena, smashing into the wall with earth shaking force.
Both gears paused to reorrient themselves, and the Dross played its trump card... a suprisingly large Ether cannon. The matama responded by once again firing every forward-pointing guns, a few that wern't, and the laser batteries attached to its arms. Although the Dross itself was pounded into a wall, the matama didn't get of easilly either, losing its lifting jets and both legs at the knees.
After a few half hearted exchanges of fire from both gears, the match was decided when Colonel Richardson, pilot of the Matama, engaged the thrust jets for one final time. Carrenning accross the surface of the arena, the Matama smashed against the Dross, crushing the smaller Gear's frame into the wall in a brutal slam.
The announcer didn't declare the victor of the battle, being terrified of going near either of the gears, didn't declare the victor. Instead, a strangely armored winged man appeared, and declared Colonel Richardson the victor, as his gear was the only one still able to twitch. Joseph Richardson was unable to be found for comment, and is currently in a burn ward, for damage sustained by the incredible heat build-up in the Matama. The pilot of the Dross is currently in intensive care.
