Xenosaga To Arrive This Year in Japan

New Final Fantasy and Xenogears games in one year? Somebody pinch us, quick! Wait, don't!

Namco first announced Xenosaga, a PS2 sequel (or prequel, actually) to Xenogears, at this March's Tokyo Game Show, but details on the game were minimal. It seemed that we'd have to wait until July to learn more through Namco's official public unveiling of the game.
While we still don't have any details on the game, we have recieved word that the Namco is targeting a shipping date of December of this year for Japan. Of course this has us very excited, as the original game is one of the best RPGs ever and we can't wait to get our hands on its follow-up. With Square giving us Final Fantasy X, Namco giving us Xenosaga, and SCEI giving us Wild Arms 3, 2001 is looking like the year of the PS2 RPG indeed!

Have to admit I'm pretty excited, though I'm a smidge worried. I would've perferred the next Xeno game to be done by sqaresoft, ho did the first one. I mean namco makes decent games and all, but square is the RPG god ^^. In any event here's hopin' ah? ^_^

Heh, sorry to steal your thunder then kale. Either way this makes it official now. All there is now is to hope they do a good job and that the game makes it over here. Anybody who read the articles on the first Xenogears would know what I mean.

And hope it makes it to europe, given the evil non-ability to have a mod chip installed in your ps2, for the playing of imported games.
