Hey, just wanted to let ya'll know, might be gone for awhile, computer crashed, trying to get a guy to fix it this weekend perhaps, but i'm not sure when I'll be back, *kicks comp* I can get on the school's comps on tuesdays and thursdays, and maybe on my friend comp on the weekend. Catch ya laters.

*wears a shirt which reads...*
"I survived Nimda!"
I'm back, but not sure when I can actually get back on the mu* since that's still being debated, apparently, telnet, and any other MU* programs are basically just connecting directly to the person's computer who runs the mu*, and if that comp has a virus, then you can get it, though I doubt that I got it from mu*, unless Xenotech's comp has a virus o_0; anways the tech guy installed Norton, which will, supposedly never be outdated, it can even protect against Nimda, as long as we update every week, so hopefully that will work in my defense when trying to convince the parents to let me mu* again. Anyways, hope to see ya all soon!

It is impossible to get a windows virus from telnetting to a machine. Cannot be done. Does not compute. Will not happen.

Virus-wise, MU*ing is completely safe.

I'd have to agree with Brin. I'm no pro, but I do consider myself an intermediate-level Geek, and I don't see how a virus would come through a MUCK. A MUCK is text-based, Nimda is a running application.

Heh, I wish I could convince my parents of that. Now they wanna install something like NetNanny, or CyberPatrol, how stupid. And they wanna restrict net access to only when they're home, which sucks, they both work all day. But apparently, "We'll talk about it later."
