I had a question about Shevat. I noticed that Solaris has control of the ever deadly Ezekiel so I was wondering what ever happened to the Excalibur? Was it destroyed? I remember them using it at one point in the game so did they rebuild it for that or what? I might sound like a dumb question but it was just kinda bugging me.

Wasn't Ezekiel ALWAYS under control by Solaris? Do you mean Fort Jasper? As far as Excalibur, wasn't that only used at the very end of the game?

If I remeber correctly the Excalibur was the ship that sophia crashed into the side of that solarian battle ship in one of the Lacan flashbacks. I believe that the Solarain ship was the Ezekiel so what to the Excalibur?

No the Solarian ship the Excalibur crashed into wasn't the Ezekiel. Come to think of it it wasn't given a name as I recall. The excalibur used at the end of the game was the Excalibur II rebuilt by Shevat.

Actually, Sophia did use the Excalibur I to crash into the Merkava, as stated in an article, which is part of the www.the-ethos.org's huge and detailed timeline of the whole Xenogears world as interpreted and translated from the Perfect Works book,

"Preastar Type Mobile Cruiser - Excalibur NO. 1
It was excavated by Shevat after Eldridge crashed, and was repaired. Sofia boarded this cruiser in the Great War 500 years ago, and went on a suicide mission to destroy the Merkava."

And read the whole thing through, not only the topics at the top of the page, but also the topics located in the little selection bar at the top right corner of the page starting on the 'History' page. It was a lot of reading material, but would definately be worth it, after reading that, I myself was surprised at how little I actually knew of the whole Xenogears world/story/timeline before hand. It also has a lot of pictures and descriptions in the section where they talk about the different ships and vehicles from Xenogears ;)

Ok. Thank you for the clarifications Ryoji. Thats brings me to another question. WHat of Excalibur II? You can't expect me to believe that they found it and repaired it all at the end of the game. Shouldn't it logically follow that the tow would have been found together? If that be the case...then we should work out something to put Excalibur II in the deserving hands of he Shevvites. I mean all Shevvites have aer loons and style. Throw them a bone.

What of the Excalibur II? Well, after being used as the "sword" of the Ygg, unless damaged, is probably still intact, but since this mu* takes place at the part in the game where you get Billy, Shevat should still be in possession of it...

That hasn't happened yet, so if my logic follows, Shevat is keeping the Excalibur II hidden away somewhere for when it is really needed-- assuming we ever get that far in the timeline in this game. ^^;

I think you should automatically assume that operations on the Excalibur II is still going on and being rebuilt, which under-complicates things.
