Maria looked down at the small case of equipment as she started to put the last of the stuff within it's metal casing. Even as small as it was, it still remained near empty. Maria's worldly goods were few, limited to a few sets of clothing, and some pictures of her father and Grandfather.
For awhile after she was done, Maria stood looking into the mirror on the far side of her room. Looking over the dress she had worn most of her life in the floating city Shevat, she decide it was time to change her look. Gathering a few pieces of old clothing, that had been a gift, she formed a new outfit, completing the look by pulling a hooded cloak over her small frame.
Just as she finished redressing there was a knock on the door. Opening it, Maria look up at the Shevat servant that awaited her. Handing her a small pad, she nodes and handed him a slip of paper. Telling him to take the letter to the Queen, he started to protest, but Maria's gaze cut him short. Bow slightly to her, the man turned and left towards the throne room, where he would wait until Maria was departed.
Maria took hold of her case and stepped out of her room, taking a quick look back one last time. Then she left to the gear dock, where Seibzehn stood tall, disguised ever so slightly. Boarding the great giant, Maria exited the floating city, and started towards the rising sun.
Looking at his timepiece, the servant pushed open the doors of the throne room, and bow to the Queen. Handing her the sealed letter he quickly backed out.
