Ryukumu sighed with relief when he finally layed down on his bed aboard the Yggdrasil. Sure, technically it wasn't HIS bed (it was one of many in the public resting area, and it was the one he used the most), but it didn't matter. Though he had only been gone for about a couple of weeks, they had been two very intense weeks indeed.
Challenged by Joseph of the GA-GS, forced to surrender with Dazil at stake, imprisoned at the GA-GS headquarters, brought to Solaris to finally confront the Gazel, sentenced to execution after causing physical damage to the Gazel computer, and then broken out of jail by Yggdrasil crew members he had never met, Saul, and even his former instructer, Clarth.
It was not like Ryukumu had never done any of the above before, but none of them ever happened so quickly. The events were usually evenly spaced out over a period of months, not rushed in a matter of weeks. It didn't matter. He was home.
But what to do next? Ryukumu shook his head at the thought. He was sure that the Gazel still wanted him dead for his knowledge and his act of defiance, the thought of which made Ryukumu smile. Though he was sure that the Gazel computer would be repaired, there would always be some kind of mark left deep inside that steel machine from when Ryukumu destroyed one of the monitor screens.
During the entire nightmare since (and including) the Mansion, Ryukumu had seldom stopped to think about his course of action. He has made enemies and crossed weapons with with the most illustrious people in the world: Krelian, the Gazel Ministry, and now even Commander Ramsus, whom he greatly admired. That was a 'hated by' list on par with Bart, and he was the unofficial leader of the rebellion! Ryukumu was just a single pilot. He has never been given a position of authority or control. Save for his combat experiance, he was a normal person.
One thing Ryukumu has learned during his travels was that the greatest plots can be ruined by overanticipation and anxiety. Variables always occured that were not expected. No one can see the future. Perhaps instead of thinking of his next plan, he ought to just take a moment and rest in safety.
Yes. Rest was what he needed. Just rest for a little while, heal up from his injuries from his escape, and then see what happens. A nap can do wonders for the body and mind.
Which is exactly what he did.
