Colonel Joseph Richardson returned from a routine patrol of the tavern to find his highest ranked soldier asleep by a humming laptop. Curiosity reared it's ugly head, and in defiance of all military regulation and respect of privacy, Joseph carefully tipped Casske onto the floor and sat down in the chair.

The kid had made a good shot at covering up his natural ineptitude, but it was too obvious he was trying. Besides, he hadn't played up his (nearly non-existant) accomplishments nearly enough. No Lieutennant deserved a status report like this.

Five minutes of thought later, Joseph saved the document and attached a few data files. They were some of his traditional attachments, garbage files formatted in a program that hadn't been used in fifteen years. Even on the off chance someone could open them, it would look like they had done it wrong. And if someone came asking, it would be effortless to delay the inquiry until they were written up.

However, to take advantage of the hospital down time, gear induction ports were installed in my palms, substancially enhancing my
combat abilities. Hailed as a net gain by my superiors.

Additional Comments... I received a medal for outstanding honor for my successful infiltration of Nortune, along with Colonel Richardson. Much data was collected durring this time (see attached files WelsComData.WAK, KisGear.ZIG, and EnemyBase.belongUs.AYB) I was also instrumental in solving many structural errors present in the GA-GS headquarters, and while in Cobalt Wing, I successfully prevented an explosion in the Fort Jasper gear bay thanks to bomb defusal skills. I selected personally by Major Thancrus to lead a gear unit in a skirmsih outside Solaris, and in fact was part of the last official operation he ever ran. Have increased revenues by a substancial ammount(attatched finances.BS.) Not one uprising occured durring my posting in Dazil. Positive personel review available upon request from General Hisatsu.

Joseph leaned back and grinned at the screen. Were all performance reviews like this, or was there someone, somewhere, who actually honestly reported their achivements? Well, he should leave that question to the philosophers.

Joseph stood up and moved to spread his jacket over Casske, when it occured to him that maybe, just maybe, as the kid's commander he should try to be a better role model for him. This kind of behavior just wasn't acceptable. With a sigh, he turned to the coatrack, stole a private's jacket, and spread that over the kid.

If he didn't teach the kids the perks of command, who would?

From the inside of the former Treasure Hunter's Association of Dazil building, mercifully made into the only place GA-GS could call home so long ago, came a soft, pleasant chime tone and a faint glow. Within, an observer would find Casske Klassa, ever smooth Lieutenant in the "esteemed" military organization typing away furiously on a black, rather fancy looking laptop computer. The screen displayed an elaborate music mixer sort of setup, and Casske was wearing a small, sleek headset, likely editing audio for some reason. He then clicked on another area of the screen, and a small message window popped up, where he seemed to be typing some manner of letter to god knows who.

He's clearly multi-tasking to a grueling extent, then clicking over to frantically type up more lines on his annual "Individual Excellence! (tm)" report to hand off to management. His numbers were not inspiring. He followed up a wonderful year, at age 26, with a monumental promotion from Sergeant to Lieutenant, and was moved to the elite Cobalt Wing unit. However, his performance slumped at age 27, with nothing in the way of promotions or recognition, except a medal for outstanding honor he got by lying to a military tribunal.

He was trying to come up with ways to augment the statistics of his dismal last year. His production was way down, having spent much of his time in a Kislev detention camp.
