Suggestion for the Shevat Jasper Attack : #1

Xenogears MUCK: TP: Suggestion for the Shevat Jasper Attack : #1
By Dominia on Thursday, July 04, 2002 - 07:26 pm:

Just figured this should be out in the open, so it could be wondered upon before the actual event happens.

Right, right. Shevat is plotting on trying to take Jasper. That's old news--If it's not old news to you, then please read the entire Nisan-Shevvite TP section on xenogearsmuck.tripod.com as it's been going on since February.

Right. This is the idea complimentary of Hyuga. It's also a suggestion--No one's tying your hands and demanding you adhere to this. It's an idea. So if you don't like it, just say so, suggest your own idea, and we'll have everyone decide what works best.

So, now that we all know that this is a mature discussion and not a flame-fest, then let's continue.

Right, the idea is this: Shevat attacks, battle goes on, all the things that we want to get done can get done. This includes whatever any of you really care to get done, as long as it doesn't include genocide of either of the Solarians or Shevvites. Ideas I've heard so far include things like Ryoji being exposed as the spy, Hyuga and Yui having a fun little fight, and some other things I can't remember off the top of my head.

Anyway, the suggestion was, after everyone has their fun, that the Solarians willingly withdraw. No, don't scream yet.

The idea is simple: If Hyuga just tampers with the gun, since it looks like the Solarians will have a fair warning, then the Shevvites aren't really taking over anything that will be terribly useful. To boot, Solaris has been there long enough to have lots of pretty things in there, so they could effectively also keep an eye on the Shevvites when they're in there.

So they could use the little time they were warned in to plot maliciously.

So the Solarians retreat, and they lose no face, as they're getting what they want: A way to keep an eye on the Shevvites.

The Shevvites think they've won, and so they lose no face, as they're getting what they want. Even if the gun isn't functional.

So you can have all your soap operas, no one is really screwed over OOCly, and it's all just fun.

There's suggestion #1. Ideas? Comments?

Q: Would the gun be repairable? Actually that might be a neat little sub-plot to do in and of itself, if you think about it.

Q2: Do we yet know how the Ygg will fit into this?

By Bart on Tuesday, July 09, 2002 - 09:16 am:

We're to attempt to stop them as per usual, but we must remember that Jasper is supposed to taken, so is a valiant attempt in vain alas.

Of course the gun would be repairable. ^.^ Hyu could just disable it, and it can be restored later.

The Yggdrasil can do whatever it wants to. o.o You can fight in vain outside or maybe even get a few people inside to fight and retreat along with the Solarians? Whatever you want to do is okay.

I don't want to say that Shevat absolutelypositivelymustmustmust get the Fort by any stretch, but this seems like a nice comprimise, right? I don't know what little details will happen that no one forsaw, but that will just be the fun of it. ^.^

Is this okay though? And if so, I just need to know when is a good time to RP it.

Besides, this is just one scene. It could have unforseen consiquences really easily and how everyone choses to react to it will affect things too.

Replaying Xenogears only adds to how the sense of how utterly turned around this game is in comparison to the canon. (Ygg/Solaris ally against Shevat, when in game it was the direct opposite. X_X)

...I lurve it. ^_^ Valiant attempts in vain alas are fun too.

By Dominia on Thursday, July 11, 2002 - 03:09 am:

To be fair, it's never been an alliance--It's just a nonagression pact. A sort of 'leave us the fuck alone' agreement. Only certain Solarians or groups of Solarians are even friendly towards the Ygg.

But, meh. x_x I'm not going to argue. If half the game things we're grossly off-canon, I don't have the will nor care to debate anymore.

By Sigurd on Thursday, July 11, 2002 - 11:05 pm:

I think you misunderstand me? I couldn't care less if we were grossly off-canon. In fact, that's.... what makes the game interesting. ^^
