    © 2002 DCU Green Society.
  • The DCU Green Society was formally refounded in September 2000 following a previous incarnation some years earlier.

In case the name didn't give it away, we're a society at Dublin City University concerned with environmental issues. These include conservation, sustainable development, and sharing environmental information with the university- and local community. Our aims and objectives are also stated in the society's constitution.

This means raising awareness about reducing, reusing, and recycling waste which we create in our environment every day: alternatives to throwaway packaging, plastic shopping bags, and non-recycled paper for example. As well as discussing and tackling greater issues that are threatening the planet.

We have to make decisions in our lives that could contribute to the distruction or conservation of our environment, it's best that we make informed decisions. You don't have to be an environmentalist to play your part in protecting the environment. And anyway — learning about it can really great fun!

Membership is open to all students and staff of the university. Non-members are encouraged to join in our discussions and activities also.
