Recently I have started recording my music collection. The back-end is all fairly standard, a mysql database. The data is archived periodically with a C program into flat text files. A nice feature I've added is the ability to update the database with an INSERT, BORROW or DELETE via an sms. When a mail arrives with key-content procmail kicks-in and spawn a perl script which parses the message digest and carries out the relevant procedures. It all started out with an escalation in CD disappearances, then i would get scared due to the recent degradation of my short term memory. Here a listing straight from tha hoss's mouth:
