January 2009
28th - Prelim in DCU
This is our own grading before we go in front of Master Darcy and Master Byrne. Our Instructor will go through a testing format so that new students will be able to know what a testing style is like!

31st - Prelim in Airport TKD
This is another testing in our brother school held by Mr. James Farrell in the Airport school, this is where the actual testing will be held and so it's a good idea to get to know the heat in this room (which is over a sauna, steam room and jacuzzi - quite warm). This is a great experience to train with students from another school and which all are welcome to attend!

February 2009
1st - Leinster Open in Mr Long's school
This Competition is brand new this year being held in the Navan Road School run by Mr. Gerry Long. This competition has the usual categories along with the introduction of a new system whereby your fighting experience will pit you up against fighters of very similar size, belt and experience, promising to be a very close competition for all involved!!

14th - Grading
Well it's been over four months since our last testing and like every year it's that time of the year. College exams are going on and the pressure is on in the club also, so let's keep up the training, nothing better to beat exam stress than to bang the pads for an hour and keep pushing ourselves! We have a good strong talent and hopefully all will go swimmingly for all hoping to test!

20th - Weekend in Scotland
This is the highlight of our year so far. Everybody has been waiting for this for ages and it's finally with us now, DCU TKD are going to Scotland for a weekend to train with Master Kirkwood and his school just outside of Glasgow . We will be training on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and then flying back home on the Sunday night!! Master Kirkwood is an excellent Martial artist, a true gentleman, friend and an inspiration to everybody!

March 2009
15th - UCD intervarsities
This is a regular in our calendar every year, and this year is no different, so lets get showing the other college how to do it AIMAA DCU style.

22nd - AIMAA traditional nationals
One of the top competitions of the year and shows why AIMAA really does stand out as a true Martial Art, this is a non fighting competition (unless it's the black belt one steps!!) taking in one steps with a partner, patterns and team patterns, a great competition that everybody can enter and push for the title of AIMAA Ireland champion! We'll be looking to continue our streak of Gold medals this year!!!

This year has started in a frenzy with the last few weeks being hectic in training. We have our grading on the 4th of October and as tradition we had our preliminary testing which serves as a pre test and a good idea what the testing will be like for beginners. Congratulations to all who passed this prelim!

Also, just last week we had our Irish Nationals which was held in our brother school in the Airport. A huge well done is in order to everybody who competed and a massive thanks to all who helped our with time keeping and especially setting up late on Friday night and cleaning up on a tired Sunday evening. Those who competed and their medal count are listed below...
