I have exceptionally strong Unix, development and administration experience. My primary strengths lie in the analysis and resolution of urgent and unusual technical and human problems. Pre-sales, application and developer support to the owners of many of Ireland's largest internet sites (and thousands of the smaller ones). Cluster analysis and implementation * Built/managed BGP/OSPF routers & a multi-homed, multi-site resilient network * Focused on finding and implementing new high-value, low-overhead products for customers to drive revenue and market share. * Provide 24/7 on-call support * On my watch, Hosting365 became Irelands largest hosting company Major Projects :- * We migrated the Hosting365 network from a single flat ethernet segment, fed by a single managed internet feed to a modern multi homed network, with many carriers. This included the IP renumbering and upgrading of the physical infrastructure of a live network with well over two hundred devices and 8000 domains, impacting over 2500 customers without visible downtime. * Overhauled all systems to increase resilience. For example, all servers were upgraded to dual disk systems, and I implemented ospf on core routers to make router failure invisible to customers. This transition was accomplished on a live working network, with minimal downtime. I was responsible for reporting on cost/benefit analysis of all proposed changes, including strength/weakness/opportunity/threat summaries to management. * I provided IPv6 connectivity to all our shared and dedicated customers, and acquired our own RIPE IPv6 allocation. To my knowledge, one of the first small hosting companies in Europe to do this.
