Day 16

Friday, 25th April 2003, 10:50 p.m. EST, Dizzy & Britta's apartment in Chatswood, Sydney

Today is ANZAC Day, a national holiday and day of mourning, rememberance and drinking and gambling for Australians. Myself and Dizzy had stayed up until two last night playing Cyberpunk, and so arose fairly late. Our first trick was to go shopping. We walked up to the shopping centre discussing what type of booze should be purchased, whereupon Dizzy, being Dizzy, found that he'd forgotten his shopping list, so he went home to get it and I spent some time in an Internet cafe checking my email. As fortune would have it by the time Dizzy got back I was very much in the mood for purchasing booze as a result of the contents of my email, so before long we were pushing a rickety trolley laden with groceries, beer and the makings of vodka martinis up the hill to the apartment.

The rest of the day has been pretty unremarkable - drinking, washing up, cooking, eating, watching a movie on a computer monitor hooked up to my laptop to avail of its DVD-playing properties. We totally missed any ANZAC Day events, if there were any asides from a parade in the morning, and actually I'll be pretty glad when it's tomorrow to be perfectly honest.

Britta brought home the info required to set up my computer to use her Internet account, but it's giving me an authentication error, probably meaning either her password is wrong or there's a problem with her account (the latter is more likely). I'm planning on spending quite a while in the Internet cafe tomorrow, therefore, to see if I can sort some of all that out and clear my head a bit.
