Day 17

Sunday, 27th April 2003, 1:30 a.m., Dizzy & Britta's apartment in Chatswood, Sydney

First thing this morning I went to the local Net cafe and spent a few hours there dealing with important stuff, which left me pretty drained. Then I got home to find I was missing my penknife I got in Switzerland, so I had to tramp all the way back to the cafe to pick it up off the floor, which put me in a worse mood again. I spent the afternoon reading Calvin & Hobbes books in the sun by the window, but also managed to get a C.V. written (format copied from Dizzy's one because it's been ages since I wrote one and I can't remember diddly about it).

In the evening we went to the birthday party of a friend of Britta's, a guy called Dave who calls everybody "man" repeatedly in every sentence. It was in a restaurant in another suburb, so we went out there and ate a bunch and talked to Australians and then went to a pub and drank a bit and then came home. I seem to have agreed to take a SCUBA diving training course and then go diving with Dizzy and Dave, despite my long-standing dislike of the sea (I drew the line at going surfing though). Whether or not that actually happens remains to be seen, but it's something that's on my List of things to do (primarily because James Bond does it so it must be cool) so I'll endeavour to make it happen.
