Kale walks in, covered in sand. Wipeing sand from his face, he walks toward Dakota. "Hey Kota." As he pulls up a chair and sits down heavily, enough sand for a sand box falls off his cloths.
Brin emerges from outside, and casts a quick glance over the contents of the bar. He briefly nods in recognition when he spots Dakota, but quickly sits at the end of the bar to remain inconspicuous. He orders a drink.
Blech... death warmed over anyone? Sora the Unlucky Minstrel has arrived in the tavern. She looks a sight, a couple of nice shiners on her eyes and a look like she had a very unpleasant night. Take one human, put in barrel, shake well.. serves no useful purpose unless you like tormenting people. She meanders over to the bar, finds an unoccupied stool and collapses against the counter.. "*grunt*" spake she with great effort as she waves her fingers in dakota's general direction.
Sedge looks over at Casske "so first we're gonna need a large energy supply...any ideas on that ?" he asks, his palm computer already out as he starts pushing formula's in, he seems totaly oblivious to all who just entered the tavern.
Dakota blinks as the sudden rush of people enters. She waves to Sora and Brin, smilling. "Hello Kale...any better today?" She doesn't disturb Casske and Sedge punching numbers and designs for plans.
Casske thinks. "Maybe... if we had the resources to build an entirely separate Galia model slave generator... check the database, how much cash and resources do we have? What's our budget?
Kale grins. "Much better...I got stuck in a sand storm, but other then that, great." Hearing Casske and Sedge's voices, he turns to glance at the two. "Oh, hey Sedge. Casske."
Brin looks around from his spot at the and of the bar. He seems glad to see Dakota in a better state then she was before, and is studying the faces new to him.
Sora_Hikage orders some water quietly and preoccupies herself with getting that down... otherwise she doesn't say much...
Sedge looks up from the computer long enouth to give a nod to Kale "hey Kale" he glances back down and looks over at Casske "ehh...not enouth, didnt you say somthing about salvage gears earlier? couldnt we like..find one or somthing?" he offers.
Dakota blinks. "Kale...you have terrible luck. You're alright right?" she looks at him, concerned as usual. Making sure the storm didn't injure him badly.
Casske thinks. "I'm sure we could get Gebler to salvage us some parts... only problem is, they may not be high quality enough to withstand the energy output needed... and if we mount it on galia's generator, I might not be able to keep it in the sky after I fire the shot."
Kale shrugs as Sedge doesn't respond, then turns back to Dakota. "I've lived throw them before...I was lucky, though. There was an old burned out gear wreck...I took shelter in it. I got a bit sandy, but luckily not hurt.
Brin idly listens in on Casske's GearTalk(tm). He seems less than interested, listening purely out of boredom.
Sora follows the water order up with an order for some ice, which as soon as she gets she puts on the side of her head. She sighs softly and carefully rubs the sleep out of her eyes.. "allo folks..." she drawls faintly...
Sedge nods slowly getting an idea, he punches some more keys and grins slightly looking up at Casske "well then why dont we put two gears up there? One can fire the cannon and take out the barrier, then fall back while Galia gets in?"
Dakota blinks, "It's a good ting...I don't know what I may have done...had you gotten hurt out there." she grimaces slightly at the thought. "Hello Sora. Are you feeling any better today?"
Casske stops and ponders for a few moments. "That's an excellent plan... but we'd need somebody willing to risk their life taking out the barrier. If the gear isn't caught, it could fall to earth. Maybe if the gear..." Casske shakes his head a little. "Sorry, how rude. Hello there Kale."
Kale looks at Dakota, grave for a moment. "I wouldn't leave you..." Kale breaks into another grin. "Besides, after some of the things we've been through, sandstorms seem tame." Kale swivels his chair around. "How are you doing Casske? I havn't seen you in a long time...by the way, whats this about a gears, barriers, and cannons? I don't mean to pry, it just sounds interesting."
Brin raises an eyebrow slightly at Sora, and seem mildly concerned at her current state. "Are you all right, Miss?" he asks.
The musician murmurs, "world's gone froom spinnin ta ver' bright.. improvement Ah spose..." She disregards the talk about Gears.. she doesn't know a missile port from an exhaust manifold.. and Dakota's seen her track record with machines lately..
Casske has disconnected.
Casske has connected.
Sedge smirks "Im piloting the 2nd gear of corse, it was my idea you know, besides, cant be that bad, just go up, blast it, come back down and let you take it from there, it'll be a piece of cake"
Casske frowns. "I'm not sure... you'd be in considerable danger. Besides that, should something happen to me, I need you on the surface to organize a second strike. No offense to you, but you're quite young, and piloting may not be your forte..."
Brin seems to lose interest in Sora,as she seems to be already in conversation. He idly taps his foot against the wooden bar, and returns his attentions to his drink.
Sora_Hikage sips at her water and lets the ice soothe the savage headache
Sedge quirks an eyebrow "yeah? you know anyone else who did as good as I did on your lil test you did?" he smirks "you know I can fire off a gun and retreat if nothing else"
Dakota nods to Sora. "better then nothing." She blinks, turning to Casske and Sedge, looking at Sedge in silence. 'Granted, he's young. but so what?' she thinks to herself, knowing how much she hates it when people act like they need to protect her, she opens her mouth. "Give it a run Casske...set up a simulation and just...see how he does..." her eyes hold their metalic sheen, glazed over, masking any readable emotion she might be feeling at the moment.
Casske nods. "Okay, it's worth a shot. Sedge, I'll let you run a simulation. Anybody else wanna try? Open try-outs... but you can't tell ANYONE!"
Kale blinks as he finishes knocking sand out of his ear. "Sorry, couldn't hear you...what are you guys talking about?"
Brin grins slightly as Casske tells a secret in a crowded bar. He remains quiet and detached, though, and seems to be quite content in watching the other go about their business.
Sora would nod in agreement with Dakota about her condition, if she weren't worried her head would drop off..
Sedge sighs and leans forward against the bar, inwardly fuming at the thought that Casske just gave him a chance at it thanks to Dakota's intervining. He deactivates his computer and puts it away before standing up "yeah well..Im gona go outside and get some air Casske" he mutters making his way around the scattered people around the tavern and to the door.
Sedge has left.
Kale says, "I know."
Dakota blinks, noticing Sedge's expression. "Hrrmmm...I'll be back in a minute..." She frowns and pats Kale's shoulder as she walks out of the tavern.
