Characters involved are: Joseph (RED), Brin (ORANGE), Dakota (GREEN),
Logged by Brin
Joseph is leaning against a wall, idly waiting for people to try to pass through the gate. Boredom is scrawled accross his face in big, bold lettering.
Dakota (OOC) tells the gravediggers to leave. "Sorry guys, he's still alive. Go home." chuckles. "j/k I'll be good. :) Ah! My pose already? o.O guess I'll
shut up and pose then?"
Dakota twitches, continuing to wander aimlessly through the desert night towards the silent city. She walks towards the gates, her eyes closed to keep the
sand out and seems not to notice anything aside from the sand beneath her feet.
Brin emerges from the quietness of the city streets, a small bundle under one arm. He steps with a certin caution, and as he spots joseph, his step falters
slightly, yet he thinks better of turning back, and sptes nervously onward, beginning to nod a silet greeting to joseph as he approaches.
Brin (OOC) also learns to type. Yeesh
Dakota (OOC) patpats.
Joseph looks up, and sees Dakota slowly walking towards him. "Ah, Dakota!" he calls out, "Welcome back." He doesn't seem to notice Brin at all.
Dakota sidesteps, coming quite suddenly back toreality. She seems almost skittish. "Oh, it's you. Hello Joseph." She takes a quick surveilance of her surroundings, wondering just how it is that she's been finding herself in sudden different places lately. She simply shrugs as she notices Brin and smiles at him with a short wave.
As Brin draws nearer to the gate, he notices a familiar face, and seems to lighten up a bit. But just a bit. "Ah, good evening, Dakota", he smiles warmly, as his slow trudge becomes more regular and relaxed. His tension ragrding the guard releases a bit. o 0 ( Surely he can't be all bad. He seems to know Dakota, and she's... ) his thoughts trail off, as he draws level with the city gate.
Joseph glances at Brin for a second, a bit confused that someone new is in Dazil. Mostly it's the same faces, day in, day out. He dispels his uneasyness with a shrug, and returns his attention to Dakota. "Is something wrong?" he asks, uncharasteristic concern in his voice.
Dakota smiles politly at Brin, opening her mouth to speak but stops before saying anything as she hears Joseph. (...thats...odd coming from him of all people...) She blinks, tilting her head a little as she looks at him and shakes her head. "No, not really. Things have just been in such an odd haze thats all." She raises an eyebrow inquisitivly, looking back and forth between Brin and Joseph.
Brin draws slowly to an unsteady halt, unsure of wether to arry on or not. o 0 ( Hmmm. Perhaps I can be introduced to the guard. Useful...). He stops in his tracks, and nods, giving the friendliest look he can muster. "Good evening, sir.". He gives a polite smile, which includes Dakota as well. "A fine evening, I might add...".
Joseph looks at Brin again. "Excuse me," he says, his customary harsh clip returning to his voice, "Can I help you?" All of his body language shouts no, he can't. Jospeh radiates the entire 'move along, citizen' aura with a practiced ease.
Dakota frowns lightly at Joseph. "...you know, you don't need to be so rude to him...why not try and get to know him for who he is rather then just leave his identity as 'citizen'? He's quite nice really, you could at least return the same curtosies..." She tilts her head slightly, somehow appearing both innocent and almost commanding at the same time yet through a softened look to her expression as if she were more pleading with him then anything else. "Sorry Brin, maybe he's just having a bad night or something..."
Joseph (OOC) says, "you there? 1 m idle."
Brin seemed slightly taken aback at Joseph's curt manner, not being used to being addressed in such a manner. His protected lifestyle in the HQ, coupled with his reclusiveness since he left it have contributed to his rather sheltered existence. o 0 ( How rude. Although, I guess it is his duty...) He is all too familiar with forms of manner and duty that 'come with the robes', as it were, and seems to realise this as Dakota speaks. He speaks to Dakota at first, although it seems as thogh he is arbitrating via Dakota still. "Quite all right, we all have...difficult days..." He removes the parcel from beneath his arm, and rips open a small corner of it. He holds the opened corner out to Joseph. "Perhsp you might like some of this fruit? It's fresh today, and might serve to cheer you up somewhat", he msiles, nervously.
Brin (OOC) says, "er, yes :)"
Joseph grinds his teeth together for a second, as some unseen internal battle is fought, and slumps slightly. Pulling himself together, he takes a step towards Brin, a bright smile on his face and his right hand outstreached. "Yes, the weather is wonderful here in the winter," he says, not the slightest trace of sarcasm in his voice. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Brin. I'm afraid I'm not hungry just now, but I hope you've been enjoying your stay in Dazil."
Dakota blinks, her jaw drops, remaining slightly open as she watches this unfold. Granted, she had asked him to be nicer but...she hadn't actually thought he'd listen, she fully expected him to excuse it to gebler duty at the slightest. Yet, here he was giving Brin a rather formal greeting now and it seemed fully on her word. (...what in all the...) she muses silently, her head remaining tilted with her mouth hanging open partways, while an eyebrow remains cocked.
Brin remains trapped, as if in suspended animation, with an outstretched parcel of fruit. o 0 ( Well, this is ...unexpected ) Not wishing to miss the opportunity, he hirriedly shoves the parcel back under his arm, and graps joseph's hand in a firm, and vigorous ahndshake. "Delighted, delighted..." he grins broadly. "I am Brin Gaisce, Etone. At your service", he mantras, in his usual quiet sincere tone. "...and it's quite all right, I've enjoyed Dazil, lovely place, wonderful...". He blurts the last out in a slightly excited tone, as if he were indeed, very pleased to make Joseph's acquaintance.
Joseph nods cheerfully. "Well, I'm Colonel Joseph Richardson, and the head of the Gebler Anti-Gear Soldiers. If you have any questions, problems, or suggesions. don't hesitate to contact me." He leans back against the wall, and goes back to watching the non-existant traffic.
Dakota remains still, as she was. She may as well start rambling as she looks quite foolish just standing there pointing at nothing and looking like she had just seen a ghost.
Brin glances over at Dakota's shocked countenance. "Are you all right, Miss Dakota? You look as if you've...seen a ghost." His face betrays slight bemusement.
Joseph looks arround, worriedly. "Is that damn cat back again?" he says, annoyed.
Dakota (OOC) laughs. "Hey I liked the kitty."
Brin (OOC) gawps, mystified. :)
Joseph (OOC) says, "Looong Bert/Roni joke."
Joseph (OOC) says, "Involving Joseph being (or pretending to be, even I'm not sure) a moron."
Brin (OOC) nods politely, and backs slowly away toward the cake.
Dakota erks and snaps out of it, shaking her head (while a large anime sweatdrop superimposes itself over her head.) "Eh, no no of course not. Just, eh...saw something strange..." (something that might as well defy science...what the heck was that...?) She shakes her head at Joseph, smirking a little. "...I liked that cat..."
Dakota (OOC) snickers, thinking of the various forms Roni has taken while non-chalantly pestering Joseph. Chibi with a squeaky mallet, kitty...what else?
Brin stares puzzledly at Dakota, then to Joseph. Hw whirls around, to face the general direction Dakota is facing, peering into the dusky street. "Erm, I see...". He slowly turns around, looks from Dakota to Joseph again, and looks puzzled. "Cat? ... ". He stand there looking confused. "Oh my..."
Joseph spits into the dust. "Well, I don't. It's caused countless Gebler deaths. I hope it gets hit by a truck and dies." The irony of his statement seems to pass him by.
Dakota takes a step or two backwards, her face twisting in disgust as she moves away from where he spit. She looks up at Brin a moment and grins. "...nothing, just a small blonde cat he doesn't like..." She bites her lip to keep from smirking lightly at Josephs statement. Guessing her hadn't really noticed just who or what the cat really was.
Brin nods, and appears to understand, but not comprehend. "I see. Although cats are clever, peaceful creatures. For the most part. I can't see how one could possibly dislike such a noble creature...". He scratches his chin, and thinks. "Although, if you fear cats in such a way, then I suppose it is understandable". He smiles reassuringly.
Joseph shakes his head, and sighs. "Going into the town, then? I see no need to check your identification-- you are dead, after all." He smirks slightly, and scans the area. Except for the three of them, it's entirely empty.
Dakota blinks, for a moment she seems confused before nodding. "Oh yeah...I forgot about that...Er...to be honest I don't know what I'm doing, didn't even realize I was here..." she blinks. "I -know- that sounds strange, so no need to comment..." she adds dryly.
Dakota (OOC) will be back in about 5-10 minutes.
Brin (OOC) might take this opprtunity to make tea, if that's ok with folk.
Joseph (OOC) says, "AFTER you pose."
Brin (OOC) nods.
Brin starts, at Josephs comment, and immediately blurts "Dead? Er, whatever can you mean?" He seems to grow uneasy, and looks worriedly from Joseph to Dakota. He thinks for a few seconds, then wipes his eyes with the back of his sleeve. He blinks, and looks again. o 0 ( Oh my. This is...worrying... ).
Brin (OOC) exclaims, "5 minutes!"
Joseph sniggers quietly into one hand. "Ah, you were following the dictates of your heart, eh?" With a baddly suppressed laugh, he waves to the city of Dazil. "Which one did you come for, the Corporal or the Seargent?" This prpbably isn't how you act in front of a priest, realizes Joseph, and he quickly regains his composure. "A while ago," he explains, "The two of us wern't on the best of terms. The only way I could later remobe her from the wanted list was to have her killed." He sighs deeply, and shakes his head. "A great tragedy, but how were we to know the beam was rottten? Cealing colapsed on her head. Killed that Scaley guy, to."
Brin (OOC) says, "back"
Dakota (OOC) says, "Sorry about that"
Joseph (OOC) says, "Just poseing will be appology enough."
Dakota (OOC) just needs to read what she missed. sheesh. :P
Dakota rolls her eyes. "I didn't follow anything, I was thinking about...something and found myself here when you called me. If you hadn't said anything, I probably would've walked right into a wall. and he's not 'Scaley guy, he's Kale." she grins lightly. "Though, thanks for saying the ceiling killed me rather then one of your...soldiers..." she chuckles lightly, looking around the city again.
Brin retains his puzzled look for a few seconds, o 0 ( He what?...but how could...and if she's...AH! ). His head suddenly snaps back in a mix of realisation and surprise. "Ah. I think I see now...". He flashes them a mock conspiratorial grin. "Your...er...secret is safe with me." he says, quieter now.
Joseph rolls his eyes up. "They can't kill time without help. How would they have killed a rebel as dangerous as you?"
Dakota grins, enjoying this ego elation. "true true..." she jokes, eventually noticing the look on Brins face as she bites her lip trying -very- hard not to laugh. "Oy, Brin...I'm not dead, I'm just listed as dead...I'm alive, trust me. But Joseph told his superiors I was dead to keep me out of further trouble, and...to an extent, now that I think of it, he kept me from getting either taken into custody, or possibly even killed. Hmm..." she muses, slipping into thought again.
Brin nods again, having realised this. "It all fits now. For a while, I was...concerned somehow. I thought it was _I_ who was seeing the ghost this time.". He smiles lightly, and blushes. Now that he no longer has to think about completely changing his belief system, he seems more relaxed. "You had me going there for a while, though." , He grins.
Joseph shrugs. "Kale'd pine if I let them kill you." He pauses to think for a second. "Actually, Kale'd be dead to. And Casske'd take the first ticket outta Dazil if I waxed both of you. Would've joined the Cobalt Wing by now."
Dakota cringes at the mention of Cobalt Wing. Yet another thing she didn't want to think about for now. If they indeed did join CW, and she came across them while in Ft. Jasper...again, not something she even wanted to think about. "..."
Brin looks puzzled at this "Cobalt Wing? Some sort of Military Organisation?", he looks inquistiviely at Joseph.
Joseph nods. "Their commander's pretty desperate, though, recruiting from a dustbowl like this. He's trying to steal my two best soldiers."
Dakota (OOC) smirks. "Two -only- soldiers..." ducks and hides behind Brin.
Joseph (OOC) says, "I've got 200 others."
Brin (OOC) whirls "Hey! Stop with the hiding behind me!" :)
Dakota remains mute, trying to think of other conversational areas to get away from this topic. She shifts her wieght from side to side uneasily.
Dakota (OOC) uses Brin as a human sheild...well, tries to anyways. "Those aren't soldiers, they're morons with guns and badges."
Joseph (OOC) exclaims, "GA-GS, not NYPD!!"
Dakota (OOC) falls over laughing.
Brin (OOC) grabs Dakota, and shoves her toward joseph, then hides under the table.
Dakota (OOC) eeps and declares war on Brin.
Joseph (OOC) says, "Brin? Yer pose."
Dakota (OOC) yelps and throws a pillow at the radio. "NO SPICE GIRLS! BAD!!! >.<"
Brin tuts. "Unfortunate. Let's hope your leadership can help you keep your soldier loyal to you. I hope you can keep them with you". H
Joseph nods. "They've been loyal to me in the past. I see no reason to beleive they'd abandon me now.
Joseph (OOC) exclaims, "Not done!"
Brin (OOC) says, "Peh, the Spice Girls are the least of your worries. you dont have S Club 7, Westlife, Boyzone, and infinite other crap bands they have over here :)"
Joseph nods. "They've been loyal to me in the past. I see no reason to beleive they'd abandon me now." He turns to Dakota. "I'm sorry, you wer building up to something, and we cut you off. Would you like to tell us?"
Dakota (OOC) shakes her head. "...yes we do. We also have that s club 7 tv show on much. -_-"
Brin (OOC) exclaims, "Good god no! They spread! they envelop!"
Joseph (OOC) says, "And they die quick. Wait six months, they'll be gone."
Brin (OOC) says, "Dont bet on it."
Dakota blinks, turning her head towards Joseph. (...this is just far too unusual. For as long as I've known Joseph, not once have I seen him apoligize or be so friendly unless hes dealing with Ikken...then...well then he's like a terrified little creature in front of a wolf pack...what has gotten into him??) she blinks, further wondering if anyone's recently given him some 'high-powered happy pills.' (tm) "...uhhh...was I? I...don't remember now." (...good god...my memory is shot!)
Brin (OOC) says, "Gah! confusion! Throw me a frickin' Bone here, people! :)"
Dakota (OOC) whimpers and hides as she sets C-4 around the radio. "...now it's britney spears...just kill me..." sets off the explosives and gives a satisfied sigh as the whiney-voiced and incredibly irritating slutty little brat can no longer be heard over the screaming metal bits flying around. "...much better..."
Dakota (OOC) asks, "We need better stations down here...these stink. >.< And what do you need clarified Brin?"
Brin smiles, and asks Joseph "So, have things been busy about here lately? You seemed a trifle bored when i first spotted you..." He smiles widely, and continues "Well, i hope your soldiers see fit to stay with you.", he nods reassuringly.
Joseph nods curtly. "In that case, I shall return to my watch. I'd be happy to have a longer conversation after my shift, but if niether of you have any immediate concerns, I'll go back to carding visitors." A tumbleweed gently rolls past.
Brin (OOC) says, "Not me confused. The conversation just seems to be *sees Josephs pose* drawing to a close... :)"
Dakota smirks lightly. "...Joseph....what visitors? It's night...no ones around..." but rather then continue to wonder about things, she simply nods her head. "Very well then, far be it from me to keep you from your duties..."
Brin takes the hint, and begins to fold up the corner of his parcel, which had begun to leak slightly. "I understand. Perhaps another time." he nods.
Joseph narrows his eyes. "Those dastardly rebels could sneek in any moment!" he exclaims, oblivious to the fact that two of them already have.
Dakota grins, chuckling softly. "...and as an official rebel, I'd like to say 'hello, and welcome to the observant realm...' But then, I guess I just don't count, considering no one ever bothers to card me anyways." she shrugs innocently.
Brin smiles and emits a short laugh at this, perhaps a little loudly. "Let's hope you can catch some of them before they do!" he exclaims, in pseudo-mock enthisiasm.
Joseph glares angrilly at Dakota. "You better run along, girl," he says curtly, "or I might bring you in for being a subversive. Which is, I beleive, how the two of us met. Do you want to go through that again, or is your cat not here tonight?"
Dakota smiles lightly. "Oh settle out a little Joseph, I'm only joking. Just how would you explain that though, I'm dead remember? Don't think I'm not gratefull, granted I hate running from others...But you need to learn that I'm not speaking offensivly...and don't bad-mouth the cat either..."
Brin grins bemusedly at this little exchange. o 0 ( My. They sound more like old frinds than sworn enemies... ) 2Well, I shall be off, I think. I plan to stop by from time to time, so perhaps we May meet again, Joseph, Dakota." He places the package inside his cloak, and wraps the cloak tighter around him as he prepares to set off into the desert.
Joseph stares out into the desert. Maybe if he doesn't move, they'll go away.
Joseph (OOC) says, "And now, like cinderella, at the stroke of midnight I must away, using the morph command to change appearance and name, leaving behind only the Matama with which to track me down. Untill then, adieu."
Dakota (OOC) smirks. "Goodnight Joseph. and yet, I STILL HAVEN"T GOT A CLUE WHY!!!" falls over. "Ok, I'm fine now. Just had to get that out. Goodnight.
Joseph has disconnected.
