Here, at the most western end of Dazil, stands the gate which leads back out south to the southern end of the Desert, towards the great capital of Aveh, Bledavik. Here stands the <Ethos> workshop, one of the greatest reasons for Dazil's success, as well as the Dazil <waterworks>, the main source of water for the entire town. To the <east> stands the rest of town, and to the <south> stands the huge, shining white gate, which leads to the southern deserts of the Aveh kingdom.

Joseph nods to a small group of guards, and begins walking down the road. After a long day irritating people trying to enter the town, there's nothing like free booze to make everything peachey keen.
Brin stands well inside the gate, a look of slight boredom on his face as he watches the quiet proceedings of the city swell past him, his chin leaning on the end of his staff, cushioned by his hands, which are clenched over the metal tip. He notices Joseph, and drowsily nods a greeting "Good evening..." he lilts, as Joseph walks past.
Joseph pauses at Brin's greating. "Good evening, Mr. Gaisce. My shift ends now. I don't suppose I could intrest you in getting a drink with me?" The cheerfulness from earlier seems not to have abated in the slightest.
## Delta-save in two minutes. ##
The Etone's ears perk up, and he straightens up slightly, his hand slidiing down, the staff coming to rest at his side as per usual. He smiles warmly. "Why, I'd be delighted. Please lead the way.", he nods politely, and glances down toward the Luck avenue down the street.
Joseph has left.
The Lucky Avenue Bar
This is a small, quaint little bar, cooled by two small ceiling fans, and broad and wide enough for a decent amount of seating space. A small rocking chair sits in the back next to a small barrel; but the pale blue stone bar dominates most of this room. Decked with liquors and cheap wines, it stands open for any and all who wish to come by. A shaded <stairway> in the back leads upstairs. A worn wooden <door> leads out.

Joseph
Joseph holds the door open for his companion, and takes his customary place at the bar. He waves to the barkeep. "Mine's a pint," he calls out.
Brin nods politely as he walks through the door of the bar. He gently shakes his robes, and they return to their customary bluish hue. He trods over to the bar, and seats himsle fat a stool across from Joseph. He orders some Water from the barkeep, and takes a small sip before speaking. "So, how quiet have things been around here leatly? Much activity?"
Joseph shakes his head, and takes a long draught of beer. When he comes up for air, he wipes his mouth clean and cheerfully says "Nope! Rebel's are scared of me, god alone knows why. And the ID checks are keeping the crime rate at astounding lows. Excivation's slacked off a bit, to, so the whole town's pretty quiet." He takes another long drink, and swivils to face Brin directly. "What brings you to Dazil, reverend?"
Brin shrugs, and stares at a crack in the floor for a while before answering. "Well, I... You could say I'm being proven. It's my first assignment out of the HQ, and I'm just becoming familiar with the area." ... He pauses, and thinks for a few seconds... o 0 ( He knew Dakota...yet is still feel uneasy that him finding out where I'm stationed might not be a good thing... best not to make it obvious.... ) He looks up, and continues "Dazil is such an interesting town too. And well-run, I might add." He grins.
Joseph laughs cheerfully, and slaps Brin on the back. "Thanks! It's been fairly easy with that Siggud fellow's help." He calms down a bit, but continues speaking. "So, where do you know Dakota from?"
Brin manages a laugh, although lower, and less jovial than Joseph's. "Dakota? Well, I met her in here a while back. She was here with some sort of demi-human, I believe. Kale, I think." ... he smiles ... "it seems like most everyone makes it to the lucky avenue eventually. I like to just stay around and watch th proceedings sometime. This bar has been one of my favourite vantage points in Dazil", he smirks. He seems more relaxed, and manages not to choke when Joseph slaps his back.
Joseph shrugs. "Mostly, you get military types." He saddly shakes his head. "If I could protect the town without impacting on it, I wond, but--" He looks up, and signals that the bartender bring him a refill.
Tolone has arrived.
Brin nods, and pays the Barkeep for Joseph's drink. "Yes, even a small military presence can make an impact." ... he nods, and continues ... "...and with the excavations and the Ethos workshop, some degree of protection is needed, and the military presence unavoidable. I understand".
Tolone walks in, her mesured tread echoing around the bar. Sliding into a seat by the bar, she scowls. Nothing particularly bad has happend, but nothing particularly GOOD has happend either.
Joseph considers stopping Brin, but thinks better of it. It's not as if he was going to pay for it, after all. "Well, I try to keep the military force here at a minimum. A few spies in the Sand Pirates are doing the work of a hundred--" He notices Tolone. "Ah, nice to see you again."
Brin titters slightly at this, and his face reamins calm... o 0 ( ...WHAT!?!... )... He turns to the newcomer to the bar, and resumes his polite Etone exterior. "Good evening, miss.", he says, in his calm Aquvy lilt, polite as ever.
Tolone nods to Brin briskly, then turns to Joseph. "Commander, I have been informed that your troops have been assigned new munitions."
Joseph give her a cheerful thumbs up. "With them, and the continued assistance of our contacts, I'm sure the rebel presence in this region will quickly be extinguished." He takes a drink of beer. "Do you have any special assignments from 'on high,' so to speak?"
Brin bows out, and takes a sip of his drink, appearng not to really be concerned about what is being discussed. o 0 ( ...Hmmm. Use..ful... )
Tolone shakes her head, pony-tails bouncing. She's three-hundred pounds of killer cyborg, and her pony-tails still bounce...some things never change. "Sadly, no. Ramsus has been...indisposed recently."
Joseph shrugs. "I've had months like that." He takes a drink of beer. "So, it looks like calm untill the go ahead is given."
Brin drains the last of his drink, and asks the barkeep for a refil, quietly. He appears to be intently studying the dents in the metal tip of his staff, and daydreaming. o 0 ( ...I told Mr. Sigurd I wouldn't take any sides in his conflict. But... )
Tolone sighs, and nods. Despite what Dominia said, this commander didn't seem THAT bad...other then the parking regulations. "This inactivity has me rather...annoyed. I should be doing something."
Kale has arrived.
With a growl as his head bumps the doorway, Kale walks in.
Joseph shrugs. "Well, I'm sure Siggud'll give the go ahead soon. When we get the go-ahead, we'll grab the target and assault the base within twenty four hours." He takes a long drink of beer, and sees Kale at the door. "Ah, Kale!" He taps the bar a few times. "Have a seat, have a drink!"
Brin looks over his shoulder at the new addition to the bar clientele. He nods a greeting to this new person. "Good evening."
Seraphita has arrived.
Tolone glances upward at the new arrivel. "Commander, who is this?"
Joseph has disconnected.
Kale nods to Joseph, then see's Tolone. He freezes for a long moment. Joseph couldn't have made this one mad...could he of... "Hello Joseph, Ma'am." Kale slides into a chair at Joseph's tail.
Joseph has connected.
Kale nods to Joseph, then see's Tolone. He freezes for a long moment. Joseph couldn't have made this one mad...could he of... "Hello Joseph, Ma'am." Kale slides into a chair at Joseph's tail.
Joseph waves at his subordinate. "This is Kale. He's a part of the GA-GS, and quite loyal." He takes a drink.
Brin continues to daydream, and thinks, while occasionally taking small sips from his drink. Occasionally, he taps his staff off the ground rhythically in boredom, while continuing to stare into space.
Tolone glances at the demi-human, and shrugs. "Ah. So, what are your plans for this region?"
Joseph scratches his chin, thinking as the beer takes effect. "Right, so anyway... They all revolve arround whats his face. Siggud! He's been doing quite well in the rebels... Kale, what position does he hold? Grand Viseir?" He sways a little bit.
Kale orders a vodka, then turns to Joseph. "He's basically their leader. Bart is royalty, but Sigurd is the one they all look up to. He also drives that sand cruiser of theirs."
Brin continues his quiet observation of the proceedings, with a look of intense calm on his face. o 0 ( ...my word. They don't seem to suspect at all. Perhaps i should remember some of this. Hmmm. Maybe later I'll decide what to do... )
Tolone stares off into the distance for a moment, and something seems to flicker in her eyes. "Indeed...I belive that he may be a Solarian."
Joseph blinks bleerilly. "What? Their leader's our spy?" He stops sqaying for a moment, his eyes momintarilly crossing. "Wow. I hope we're paying him alot." A slow smile spreads accross his face. "He's certainly doing a good job keeping the chaos to a minimum." He focuses on Tolone, irritation creeping into his voice. "Don't tell me you beleive in Solarian, little girl. It's the worst lie I've come up with in seven years."
Kale almost says something...but decides not to. If that element gets angry...he slides his chair away from Joseph, and gets his vodka.
Brin still remains quiet, his face not betraying any of what he is thinking. o 0 ( ...okay, so, I remember this, and...I tell Sigurd? I promised not to take sides, but....people could be killed!...I...don't know... ) He continues to pretend to be bored, and listens.
Tolone glares sharply at Joseph. "Commander. I am an element. Do NOT patronize me." Tolone's eye grow hard, and she scowls again.
Joseph puts his hands up defensively. "Sorry, sorry, sorry. Didn't mean anything. I'm drunk. But you /do/ know Solarian doesn't exist, right?" His face radiates concern.
Kale groans inwardly. He really hopes the blood won't splatter all over him.
Seraphita pushes open the door, having spotted the Skyghene nearby. "..." she pokes her head past the door, looking about the little room before smiling with that cat-like grin of hers. "...Tolone!" she greets her cheerfully, walking over.
As the door opens, Brin slowly turns his head to face in that general direction. Seeing the...person who has just entered, he thinks better then to be rude. He nods, and smiles politely, and returns to his staring at the bar counter. o 0 ( ...Strang, strange girl...perhaps another solarian? they seem quite...different in dress, it seems... )
Tolone was about to do something nasty to Joseph. Her eyes flicker again, and something in them seems to target Joseph. And then immidatly stops as Serapthita comes in. Grimacing, Tolone turns towards Sera. "Hello, Seraphita."
Joseph shrugs drunkenly, and turns back to Kale. "Do we know how long untill Siggud has the explosives in place?" he asks.
Kale blinks. He hadn't known about any explosives...and Sigurd a spy? Oh, wait...Joseph must've forgotten to tap the table. Or he was just drunk- Kale's thoughts are cut short as Seraphita enter. "What? A bunny girl?" Kale blurts out, then winces.
Seraphita tilts her head a little at Tolone, (...awww...she's never happy to see me.) but simply hides her dissapointment as she hops up (literally) onto a stool between Brin and Tolone, and yet still that strange smile plasters her face, even after Kale's remark. "...so...? What's wrong with being a 'bunny girl...?'" Her eyes turn a little glassy, almost as if she may cry.
Brin looks over, and studies the bunny girl when she's not looking. o 0 ( ...very strange form of dress. I've not seen it before. ... ) He thinks for a second o 0 ( ...Well, perhaps on _one_ person ). He sips his drink, and continuees to rest his chin on the end of his staff, staring at the ripples caused in his drink by the activity at the bar.
Tolone attempts to smile. And fails. "It's...good...to see you Seraphita. How are you doing." Tolone then grimaces again. She is NOT good at stopping Sera from crying.
Joseph looks at the bottom of his glass, finding it mysteriously empty. "That's good... bunny girl explosives..>" he pauses. "Actually, those are new to me. Something from Ethos recently unearthed?" he asks. He doesn't seem to notice the new element.
Kale blanches. "No, No, that's fine, fine..." Oh, great, she's going to cry now...this is NOT what Kale needs right now. And the Element knows here? Wonderful. "Seraphita? I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings."
Kale blanches. "No, No, that's fine, fine..." Oh, great, she's going to cry now...this is NOT what Kale needs right now. And the Element knows here? Wonderful. "Seraphita? I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings."
Tolone has disconnected.
Seraphita shrugs. "Kay!" she says simply, apparently satisfied with that as she looks at Brin for a moment. (...boy what's with these lambs? Sure do dress funny...) "I....ok, bye Tolone..." she watches her leave but simply shrugs as she looks at the others again.
Kale blinks at her, then follows the Element out, hopping he can convince her not to blow up the Gebler HQ.

Kale has disconnected.
Brin looks around at the sudden barrage for the door. He sees The first Element, and Kale disappear, and turns back around to face tha bar, and remains quiet still.
Seraphita shrugs slightly yet again, but being the ever-cheerfull little element that she is, she doesn't let a possible conversation go to waste. "Hi. My names Seraphita." She smiles at Brin, if she were a dog, perhaps her tail would be waging. -_-;
Joseph watches Kale go. "Wait!" he futilely calls after the retreatel Corporal, "You haven't told me about the bunny girl explosives Siggud has!" He pauses, and turns bleerily to Brin. "He didn't, did he?"
Brin nods at Joseph. "No, it would appear not...". He quickly turns to the girl, and answers politely "Good evening Miss Seraphita. I'm Brin Gaisce, Etone. At your service.". He never fails to make this line sound sincere every time he says it. After all, it is. 2how does this day find you?"
Seraphita blinks, "Gunny girl explosives?" her eyes widen a little as she looks at him in disbelief. "...Oh, Uh, hi mr Brin." she smiles politley in response. "I'm well, and yourself?
Joseph stares at Seraphita. "I hope you're not about to blow up, young woman," he says sternly.
Brin stares puzzledly at Joseph, and turns to Seraphita "I am fine, thank you. I fear, perhaps, that Joseph is not." He stands, and pats Joseph's shoulder. "Are you all right Joseph?".
Seraphita tils her head and looks at herself, trying to see if there were any explosives strapped to her. "...I hope not. That might hurt..." she simply blinks, as well quite puzzled.
Joseph stands up, and salutes roughly. "Welcome to Dazil!" he slurs.
Brin steps back as Joseph's hand almost catches him, while performing its wild salute. He looks over at Seraphita. "He seems quite...unwell. Perhaps we should leave him alone for now."...
Seraphita blinks, standing up and tilting her head as she looks over him. "What a funny man" she observes with a light laugh, grinning a little as she watches.
Joseph turns to the door, after a few attempts, and grins wildly. "I'll just leave it all to the bunny girl to blow up the Siggud explosives, then," he says, "And go sleep it off. Good night!"
Joseph has left.
Brin turns around, a bemused look on his face. "Well, he seemed quite happy in himself." He resumes his seat at the bar, and orders a refill for his drink. "I haven't seen you here before. although I'm new to dazil myself."... He looks up at Seraphita.
Seraphita shakes her head. "I haven't been here before. I'm...er...new!" Her ear twitches a little, hoping he'll just leave the information at that. She's never been a very good lier...
Brin nods. 2It's a nice town. With some...colourful people. He smiles, and nods his head toward the door the drunken Joseph had just stumbled through. "I like it here. Hopefully you will, too.". He smiles reassuringly.
Seraphita smiles brightly, "Hope so, But I don't think I'll be here long. I have to go back home before they notice I'm missing. But thank you!" She looks around the little tavern a moment, it was quite new to have wooden walls instead of metal ones, and she wasn't exactly certain that they wouldn't fall in.
Brin nods. "I understand ..." o 0 ( ...hmmm. perhaps She's also like that girl in the desert. Trying to get back before father misses her. She certainly has the same manner... ).
Seraphita nods and, of course, continues to smile politly. "So what is it like around here anyways?" She looks at him with clear curiosity and a genuine inquisitivness.
Brin says "Well, it's busy enough during the day, with the Excavations. Although they've been quiet recently. Joseph's been keeping things under wraps, so it's a tight ship, really..." he pauses and grins "...while he's on duty, of course..."
Ildon has arrived.
Seraphita nods her head exuberently. "Oh, were those guards at the gate on patrol for him? They were asking people for ID. Do you ever go to the excavations?" although she seems full of questions and geniune curiosity, she seems to lack any questions that hold relevance or any form of interesting topic.
Brin nods. "Yes, they're giving thos rebels out there a hard time. i wouldn't like to be in their shoes right now..." he stops, and thinks..."..they must be low on supplies by now...".
Ildon walks into the room from the upstairs, a little woozy and tired. He looks like he hasn't gotten much sleep. Slowly, he walks over to the bar to see a young woman in his seat. He examines her for a moment. Bunny ears, he thinks. Sounds familiar... He shrugs off the thought and strolls over, taking his irregular seat next to the woman. He smiles slightly to her as he takes a seat, and pauses for a moment as if considering something. He raises his hand and says "Two drinks please, one for me and one for the young lady next to me." Smiling to himself somewhat, he looks to the woman and says "Hello. I haven't seen you in here before. Are you a traveler or something?" He smiles to her, his best and most charming smile.
Seraphita blinks, tilting her head a little. "Uhhm, sure. Traveler I guess. And, no drink thanks. They taste funny." she wrinkles her nose a little, quite a comical sight with that cat-like mouth and oversized pink ears. "Who're you?" she asks politly, smiling enthusiastically.
Ildon blushes for a minute, suddenly realizing that the young lady is younger than expected. He sensed a maturity about her that was misleading... He shakes his head and turns back to the bar. "Well, if you don't like drinks then what are you doing in a bar?" He looks away and sips his drink. "I am also a traveler of sorts. A freelance writer. I am searching for some kind of inspiration in this war-wrought continent.
Brin nods in recognition of Ildon. "Any luck on finding directions ot Nurtune?" he asks, after watching the previous little incident unfold.
Seraphita smiles, "Well, I was looking for Tolly. I saw her gear down here so I landed to find her. And know what? I did too...but she had to go." she frowns a little but perks up again quite quickly. "A writer? Ooooo...I don't think I could do that. Nortune? I know where that is!" she nearly shouts the last part of her sentance. "Well, I think so anyways."
Ildon laughs at the young one's enthusiasm, and turns to Brin. "Don't bother, I found my way. The people at the Port were "ferry" helpful" He clears his throat, having gotten no response to his pun. He looks off into space. "Ah, nortune, the city of steam. One of the most inspirational places I have yet visited. The most beautiful thing that I have ever seen was there, two young children playing in a cloud of ash, dirty, smiling carefree. What a wonderful place." He stares for another second into space, and sips his drink. He looks to Brin. "How has your work been progressing?"
Brin nods. "I must visit sometime, it sounds interesting...", having gotten the pun, he looks at Ildon, rolls his eyes upward, and continues. "My work/ It goes well, Dazil's a nice place to work. And there's an Ethos workshop here, so I can easily get reports from HQ.".
Seraphita tils her head, watching the conversation move back and forth but doesnt interupt them, not wanting to be rude, but also because she really didn't know what they were talking about.
Ildon says, "It's odd that such a miserable town as this would appeal to you." Ildon looks around to make sure that nobody considerably larger than he was offended. "I find it to be a desert not only of the earth, but also of poetic inspiration. Or, maybe I just am not good enough to write beautiful poetry about sand?" He stares away for a moment. "Maybe I should remain, after all."
Brin nods. "Well, to each his own, as they say. The sand, and the busy city are probably not entirely good sparks for the muse, i'll admit..." he looks at Seraphita. "Do you not think so? Do you like it here, Seraphita?".
Seraphita blinks, looking at Brin not sure what to think at first. "Oh, uhmmm...it's neat actually, not so shiney as my home. But...won't these walls fall over? They don't look very sturdy...I mean...they're wood or...some kind of sand or something...why didn't they use metal? Metals strong...Like me!" she squeaks, trying to look tough but...she's part bunny and...pink to add to it, not likely to come off as tough in front of anyone...ever.
Ildon amuses the girl with an impressed look. "Yes, you do seem tough, don't you? It must be easy for you, intimidating people left and right with those big muscles and pointed demonic ears." He looks to his drink. Is this something different today? He shrugs, and delights in another sip. "Metal's strong, like me? Hmm..." He once again stares off into space.
Brin smiles, and nods to affirm Seraphita's statement. His suspicions over what Seraphita is prevent him from being so bold as Ildon, although he feels it might not be so bad for Ildon, since Sera doesn't look like the type to get sarcasm. He looks around the room. 2I've not seen a room of wood or stone fall over of its own accord ever. i think we're pretty safe." He smiles reassuringly. o 0 ( ...a place where all the rooms are made of metal. One guess...)
Seraphita beams, its not often she gets praised, even if it is sarcastically. She doesn't pick up any tone of sarcasim, simply delighted by the words and leaves it at that. "Yeah...guess so. Well, if you say so. Guess maybe they're not so weak after all." she looks around the room again, bemused.
Ildon looks into his drink. Remember what father said, he tells himself solemnly. Innocence often harbours power. He breaks his personal concentration to keep up the conversation with these people. "My, the drink has gotten to me, I'm afraid. I was in a daze. I apoligize." He looks over to the young woman. She suddenly seems powerful, he thinks. The look in her eye is playful, but so is the look in the eye of a wild cat as it toys with its prey. His paranoid thoughts cause him to groan to himself.
Brin looks at this little exchange, and seems like he's intruding on it somehow, He stand up from his seat, and smooths his robes down. "Well, it has been nice to meet you Seraphita, and again, Ildon. Perhaps another time. I , er, must go...and...", his face turns a light shade of peuce, and he attempts to choke out the last few words. He meant to say 2Oh my", but all that comes out is something like "poik"...
Ildon acknowledges Brin's departure with a nod. He risks turning back and looking at the young girl again. The uniform she is wearing is strange, he thinks. "What do you do for a living?" he asks curiously.
Seraphita giggles lightly. "Poik...It was nice to meet you to meet you too Mr. Brin! You look sleepy..." she waves cheerfully, the movement accompanied by the usual bright and happy smile of the young girl. "Goodbye Mr. Brin." she tilts her head, looking oddly at Ildon. "I'ma soldier." she says proudly.
Brin nods, still gasping for breath. "Yarp", he yelps, as he makes his way toward the stairs, breaking into a trot as he goes.
