Elly just happened to be wandering down the hallway in the opposite direction, only her gaze is straight forward...so she is able to see Fei coming down the hallway. She stops and allows him to walk a little further, seeing if she is noticed at all before attempting to say hello.
Brin stands outside the door with the red light, looking slightly lost, and uncomfortable in these surroundings. He looks up, and notices the two coming toward him from different directions. His face assumes a softer appearance, and he gives a warm smile.
Fei waves a bit to Elly, hearing her familiar footfalls before seeing her (those Solarian boots are distinctive, really). It really is kinda funny to watch him go from quiet and contemplative to friendly in a nervous sorta way. "afternoon, Elly.. Revered.." he says to both people in the hall.
Elly just noticed Brin who is walking in as well apparently, "Good afternoon." she says though she really isn't familiar with this person. It is always nice to have some people to talk to though.
Brin nods to Elly, "Good afternoon, miss". He looks both of them up and down, as if committing their appearances to memory. "And how does this day find you?". He nods a greeting to Fei as he draws up.
Fei makes sure he's not blocking traffic and leans up against the wall across from Elly and Brin. He shrugs a bit in response to Brin's question and muses, "Can't complain.."
Brin (OOC) ahems
Fei (OOC) waves a han before Elly's face. "um.. ello?"
Elly (OOC) says, "Eep ^^;"
Brin (OOC) grins
Fei (OOC) puts away his marker and whistles iooncently.
Elly looks towards Brin again, "Oh...well it's been a good day. I don't believe I know you."
Brin smile remains, and he reamins polite and soft-spoken. "Likewise. I am Brin Gaisce. I've been sent here as...a chaplain, or guide of sorts. People can use assistance in matters of the faith even here, among the bustle of this base.". He pauses, as if to reflect on what he has just said. He speaks again "My main source of confusion is who is n charge. I've been directed to a man named Bart, and have a rough description. Beyond that, I'm lost for now" He gives a wry smile. "Perhaps you may know where I might find him at some stage? i would be most grateful.".
Brin (OOC) says, "dear god. My typing is all bad. ;)"
Fei hmms and nods. "Yeah.. Bart should be around somewhere.. he's something of a busy guy...." he muses.
Elly nods in agreement, "Yeah, Bart would be a bit difficult to find at the moment because he has a lot to do around here as you can see." Or maybe he doesn't see, simply for the fact that it seems so empty in these hallways recently. "In any case, you can always look for Sigurd...he is in charge when Bart is busy it seems."
Brin nods. "Thank you." He regards the two again. "I fear I don't know who either of you are. Are you part of this crew also?"
Fei chuckles a bit and nods. "I guess you could say that..." he muses. "I'm La.." he ponders for a moment, an odd look on his face. "Fei.. Fei Fong Wong.." The expression could almost be one of 'Gee, Fei, engaged the mouth before engaging the brain?'
Elly nods as well, "I'm Elhaym Van Houten...but you can call me just 'Elly' like everyone else does." Smiles and then peers strangely at Fei. "...? Hmm? Is something wrong Fei?"
Brin smiles, and appears not to notice Fei stumbling over his words. "Fei... and 'Elly'" ... he mulls over the nmaes for a second, and appears to stare into space for a second. He snaps back into reality again at Elly's tone of question to Fei. He seems to daydream a lot, yet is still quite alert, and looks quizzically at Fei.
Fei hehs.. "the mouth was moving before my brain was.." he scratches the back of his head a touch nervously, "Need to stop doing that.."
Elly is tempted to laugh, this is again one of those moments where Fei is just simply put...wierd. Of course, it isn't anything bad...just different. "You seem a little occupied, Fei?"
Brin begins to look slightly bemused, it appears he will be here a while before he begins to understand the many injokes theat permeate large societies in small spaces. He remains silent, choosing to see what comes of the exchange, ever observant. Perhaps he could learn something about peronsal relations, beside what was thaught to him at HQ. Perhaps not, though.
Fei ums and then nods a little. "Actually.. I was.. a little.." he muses, shifting his weight from one foot to another and developing a slight nervous tic involving fiddling with the cross he wears around his neck, under his tunic, or rather the cord it hangs from. "I was hoping I could find you because...." he trails off for a moment, and then screws up his nerve to the stopping point. "I'd like to paint you... sometime.. when you have some free time.." He turns faintly red and ducks his head slightly. What is it about a Elly that can turn Fei into a bundle of nervous energy sometimes?
Elly smiles at Fei, somehow she always finds him amusing though she is never ready to admit it immediately. "Well...I don't know how much time I really have at the moment, but if you would like to that much...then alright. I'd like see how well you paint...I've heard from Citan you were pretty good."
Brin blushes slightly, and quickly tries to keep a straight face. Although he has been noted for his reticence and lack of common sense at times, he is still not blind to the many ways people can express themselves. Fei's shy body language tells him a lot more then what he has said. He cannot help but feel he was an intruder on the exchange he just saw. He attempts to change the subject. "You are an artist, Fei? What do you paint?"
Fei chuckles a little and admits, "Well.. I get by..." He hmms and muses, "It wouldn't have to all be done at once.. so I guess we could do a little here.. a little there..." He then replies to the priest, "Well.. mostly landscapes.. but I .." he pauses looking for the right word.. "It feels like it's time to try my hand at a portrait..."
Elly says, "Really? What are you going to try now if you don't mind me asking, hmm?"
Brin nods. "Trying new things is always a worthy endeavour. I'm doing something very new to me..." He waves a hand encompassing the entire base interior "...and I find it to be fulfillng, and worth the effort. I hope you do well".
Fei hmms, "It's.." he pulls the cross out of his tunic and frets at it a little.. "It's been so quiet around here lately I've been able to get a little comfortable again.. find my center and go over things..." he muses, "There's a painting in Nisan I saw once that's been sticking with me... I can't quite get it out of my mind." He admits, "I want to see why Citan said.. that the painting looked like something I might have done..."
Elly blinks curiously, "Really? Hmm...it must have been very good then...maybe I will go and see it myself one day."
You say, "hmmm. I've never been to Nisan. i hope someday to get the chance. I hear the cathedral there is beautiful." "
Fei hmms, "Ask Margie about it... it's.. a portrait of Mother Sophia.." He realizes he's playing with his cross and tucks it away. "I couldn't quite see why Citan said that.. but I'm wondering if actually doing a protrait might help me see why.."
Elly nods slowly, "Well if it's biting at your curiousity so much...maybe you should try your hand at one soon. Actually I do have some time left before I have to leave...so maybe if you want...we can try this a little bit later?"
Brin (OOC) says, "Brin is nodding and smiling politely for this round, BRB"
Fei hmms and nods, "I'd.. like to get a start.."
Elly smiles, "I don't mind posing...though I really don't know how well I would do just sitting there for a while."
Fei smiles faintly, "It's not like a bromide..." He stands still like a statue, not even blinking as he murmurs through still lips, "you don't have to stand.. like this..." He then relaxes and leans back against the wall with a faint chuckle.
Brin (OOC) says, "back"
Elly says, "Well, what ever you need Fei. ^_^ I'll try to be an adequate model for your picture."
Brin smiles gently, and continues the joke "You also have to work on your 'staring into space' method.". He does a perfect impression of himself staring thoughtfully into space, with an enigmatic smile on his face.
Fei hehs, and scratches the back of his head. "It's not *quite* that bad.."
Elly tries to hide a giggle as best as she can, finding herself staring at Fei momentarily as well. Of course she is much quicker at returning to reality than poor Fei.
Brin returns to normal, and smiles broadly. He appears to feel more comfortable with these new people, not that it takes too long most of the time anyway. He notices Fei's distraction, and apologises. "I'm sure you'll do a fine job. I'll be interested in viewing the finished work, if possible.".
Fei always has had problems with little things like reality... He hmmms and tries to figure something out... "Let's see.... somewhere with better light..." That *is* the problem with a base set into the side of a mountain, isn't it? He nods to the priest as he starts pondering somewhere to set up shop..
Elly sighs and has to go get something, "Well...whatever you decide, just let me know Fei. I need to go for now...I'll be back later." ^_^ Waves to both Fei and Brin as she leaves.
Elly (OOC) needs to go, "Sorry ^^;; Nighty."
Brin (OOC) waves
Fei (OOC) understands.
Fei (OOC) says, "buh bai"
Elly has disconnected.
Fei (OOC) says, "que sera..."
Brin waves slightly as Elly disappears down the corridor.
Fei watches Elly head off and hmms... "I need.. somewhere with good light.. this flourescent stuff just isn't going to work.."
Brin sighs. "I hear also that outside is not a good place to be, with patrols about. Perhaps its best to find a quiet spot, since the inferior light is preety much unavoidable, i fear."
Fei mmhmms... "True..."
Fei muses, "what I wouldn't give for quiet, little Lahan right now.."
You say, "Be that as it may, I still hope it goes well."
You say, "I'm not familiar with Lahan. Quiet place, I assume?"
Fei nods slightly. "It's.. I need to do this...." he pauses and sighs, "It's not really there anymore... it was rebuilt but.. it's not really Lahan anymore.."
Brin notices Fei's tone, and decides not to pursue the matter further. "I see. Well, it has been nice to meet you, Mr. Fei. I hope we may talk again. I must somehow locate Bart or Sigurd, and indicate my presence officially". He looks up and down the corridor, wondering which way he should blindly wander.
Fei says, "Good to meet you too... I'm sorry I can't point you in Sigurd's direction at the moment, though.. he could be anywhere on base.."
Brin (OOC) says, "wow. i could probably RP for a lot longer, but things just seem to have drawn to a close naturally. :)"
Fei (OOC) nods.. "Yeah... seems that way.."
Brin smiles. "Quite all right. This place can't be THAT big". He casts a agaze over the huge cavern, and wears a look that says "I Hope...".
Fei says, "Well.. if you find yourself standing no the rails at the base of the Ygg' you've probably gone too far"
Brin grins, and sets off in the handiest random direction.
