The Orphanage, Main Bedroom
This room holds bunk beds on every side, all neatly made and kept as clean as can be done in an Orphanage full of rowdy children. Several doors stand scattered about the edge of this room- leading to several different areas about this quaint, but tiny, Orphanage. One can enter the <m>ain room from here, <P>rimera's room, or <B>illy's Study.

Erine
a large gander
Midori (OOC) nods. And wonders who poses first. I would imagine it being the one of us that is conscious ^^.
Erine (OOC) asks, "Is that a.. Hint?"
Erine (OOC) snickers, Poses.
Midori (OOC) grins
How very utterly peculiar. And yet, things considered, its not like there's anything really strange about that. Hm? How can that be? Well, simple. Even things that are unexpected are events that are within the range of reason to expect, after all. So, even situations like this.. Happen. So. A child shows up on the beach, unknown to any in the orphanage, and worn absolutely to the bone? Its certainly odd, but with no harm done.. Then, at least she had the luck to collapse on this island in particular. For Midori was brought her as promptly as the Etones could, tucked into a bed and minded while she was unconcious. After all, if a child is to show up without word or warning.. What better place to show up at than an Orphanage? And one with Ethos protection and Etones about who have medical training, to boot. And yet, for some reason or another, Erine has chosen to stay for the duration of Midori's unconciousness. For she is a very strange child. Perhaps she wouldn't mind waking up to knowing someone is there? And so, Erine is currently sitting in a small chair, reading a nondescript book, not far from where Midori rests. And even the others in the orphanage have made the effort to be quiet in this part of the building today--After all, a stranger's hurt, and needs rest.
Where are you, Sigurd? You were there the last time, a comforting figure, a welcome change. Now there is just fuzziness and brittleness, as the young mind is tortured in a spinning haze of unconsciousness. There is...so much pain. So many people around, missing a great part of them. A silent tear falls from her still-asleep eyes, not for the others, but that she knows now what it is like, to lose your family, to lose everything. Midori sleeps. The barely audible breath that had progressed from a rasping cough, to loud snores, now to almost-normality, as the dishevelled stranger became a sleeping child. Midori sleeps, and there is no solace there this time. There is nothing.
It.. Must be awful to lose one's family. Erine herself knows what its like to lose siblings, but.. Well, at least she has never lost -everyone-. Although.. How could she imagine what that is like? To have everyone go away, to leave nothing but silence.. Shudder. No. Unpleasant thought, that. Erine blinks away from her book for a moment, to cast a glance at the child, giving nothing more than a small, faint smile to the tears she grants in sleep. Poor thing. Whatever.. happened to her? For its impossible to imagine, and completely inexplicable. For all guesses possible, she doesn't even seem to be from the Aquavy -area-... Well. Erine shakes her head mildly, holding her place in her book while she shakes her head. And murmers, ever so faintly, "Where -did- you come from...?" Well, she's not likely to get an answer anytime soon, either, especially from the unconcious. Still, its worth a curious wonder.
My Name is Midori Uzuki. I come from the house on the big hill. Please...well, what is it? Blank. Static. Nothing. Without moving another muscle, Midori opens her eyes. So, it is her again. That great, unreadable ball of goodnaturedness. She had never seen one so...blank, so unmistakeably...good. It was an unnerving thought in a world of dark secrets and hidden agandas. Too unnerving to be refreshing. But, Midori takes it as it is, and the eyes flicker open fully, and regard the woman by the bed blankly.
Erine (OOC) asks.. A stupid question! "Is that first line just pose glorification or psychicness? I know its a dim question, but I might as well make sure. (X_x)"
Midori (OOC) notes that it was psychiness. Make of it...whatever static-girl might.
Erine (OOC) nods, and is making sure. ^_^
It is a disturbing thing, isn't it? To be a smiling face, and nothing more, in a world in which every smile is supposed to hide a snarl of truth. But whenever has that been a need for Erine? The truths which are hers are undoubtedly hers. Any vicious truth and hidden motive can be the plaything of another. And yet.. The Bishopess blinks suddenly, at those words thrown.. To her mind? And yet, it is a sort of broken message, something she has to struggle to catch. A missing word, and.. Wait, did she say...? And so, it is a long minute of blinking that Erine gives before she pauses and smiles, sliding a bookmark into her book as she attempts to reiterate, "Midori.. Uzuki?" Strange. She feels she should know that surname, for some reason. "What a neat little trick that was! My name is Erine." And are there other worries hidden behind those words? Again, no. Even her praise seems fully honest, rather than the humoring one would often give to children. "And I'm afraid I don't know of any houses on hills.. You're at the Ethos Orphanage. Is that far from where you ought to be?"
Erine (OOC) is creepy. Yay. Idles for dinner for a moment!
>What is the Ethos? What is an orphanage? Where am I? Who are you?< . The questions would be slurred and hurried is spoken, and probably just as much in this method. Still, let Midori be a little ignorant of this woman's apparent difficulty with understanding her speech. To wake up in a strange place to strange people is enough to torment even the most strong-willed of five-year-olds. The most terrifying thing at this very moment, though, is that there is a person sitting there beside her, and Midori doesn't know the first thing about her. Nothing. Still, talking to a brick wall is still communication. If walls have ears.
Erine (OOC) returns!
Midori (OOC) nods.
"Ethos is a type of church. An orphanage is where children go who have no one to take care of them. And you are in the Ethos's Orphanage, on the island south of the Ethos's Cathedral." And even those answers are gladly given, without any of the irritation or snickering that might accompany one attempting to answer the most basic of questions. Why should Erine's patience wear thin? This child is obviously just lost and confused. Everyone is capable of that. And yet.. It takes Erine so long to answer such questions, piecing together, word for word, what Midori is trying to say. What a strange way of communication. And yet, still, what a neat little trick. And Erine means not to be a source of distress, merely because she can not be read. And all she can do is give a careful smile, "Are you feeling any better?"
Midori can only nod. Clean clothes, sheets, and some of the more troublesome cuts and grazes bandaged up. After so long out -there-, this was heaven. Still, a nod is as good as it gets. So, there was no-one to look after her. Except a 'church'. If all of them were as unnervingly nice as Erine, she might even get to like it here. Or, be so helpless as to want to escape. Still, a nod to answer the question, and nothing more in return, as she still regards Erine with that blank stare.
Ah, but wouldn't it be nice if all of Ethos had the mind to be as kind as Erine? And yet, at the same time, wouldn't that be a silly thing to think of? For it is the sheer variety of people that Erine must lead that makes her job so.. Amusing. And, a nod? Well, that's more than a good enough response for Erine. And its one she can respond to in a reasonable amount of time to, rather than staring mildly at the ceiling and wondering what was just said, er, thought at her. "I'm glad, then. I was worried when you collapsed like that before." Does the Bishopess ever stop smiling? For she does even now, when met with that blank and unyeilding stare. Even if, at the same time she blinks and notes, "Is something the matter?"
>No. Nothing< . The voice grows silent then, and Midori breaks eye contact. Confused. If she could not read this person, then how could she know if she could be trusted? It is a decision she has never had to make before. Trusting someone just on sight? For a kind deed? Plenty of bad people had done kind deeds. Still, she will see what she will see, and for now, lie back as her eyes glaze over, and begin to drift closed again.
Trust.. Is a very complex thing. And it must be very difficult to cope with when one is so -used- to having people be bluntly worthy of such or not. And yet, whatever decision that the child comes by is fine with Erine, who seems more than fit to smile through whatever she shall say. Or think. And she nods as the child glances away, and drifts back towards unconciousness... Well, no harm in that. She needs to rest, after the condition she was in before. And so, Erine merely notes a light, "Rest well, then." Bright as anything she's said, before she turns back to her book. What a.. unique little child. Yet that name nags at the Bishopess's mind, a wonder that she -ought- to know that name. Midori Uzuki. Hm. Well, rest for now. And this woman who is nothing more than a collection of a half dozen notes of static and blankness shall remain here, just in case.
Erine (OOC) babbles, "Err, right. (X_x)"
Erine (OOC) says, "I'm really out of habit with Erine. ^_^; Ah well."
Midori (OOC) grins.
Midori (OOC) thanks Erine.
Erine (OOC) snickers, "Thanks for the RP, though!"
Midori (OOC) notes that Erine appears to be the only one frequenting Aquavy. Leaving eventually might be an idea. Still, leave that for later. For now, be a scarey convalescent.
Erine (OOC) says, "There is no one in Aquavy. There never is. (>_<) That'll change with the Ethos TP, though. ^_^"
Midori (OOC) nods. Perhaps something will crash on the orphanage.
Erine (OOC) giggles! "Hey, a lot of things like that -could- happen. (X_x) According to my plot interview, I imagined the Brotherhood of whatever annoying the Ethos. Possibly blowing up stuff, causing havoc..."
Midori (OOC) had an idea for the Shevark to keep the firepower yokels happy for a while, too.
Erine (OOC) cheers! "Hey, neat! ^_^"
Erine (OOC) is rather unnerved. At this rate, my Marcus is going to be the only cultist. (X_x) Everyone else who wants to join wants to join as a spy.
Midori (OOC) notes the Retinal Scanner in the Shevark armory. To e used in an emergency, upon which cliste downloads himself into a dirty great gear he'd been hiding in the closet.
Erine (OOC) says, "Oooo... Neat! ^_^"
Midori (OOC) jumps out of bed, and shouts at the top of her voice. "SUPER G SHEVAT MOBILE SUIT INTELLIGENCE ALPHA!!!".
Erine has connected.
Erine (OOC) gets booted. Grumbles. (>_<)
Erine has disconnected.
Erine (OOC) says, "Anyway."
