On the 17th February, 15 of us set off for Cern, Switzerland: Adam Kelly, Tom Cotter, Brian Maclochlainn, Jenny Bernes, Kevin Delaney, Gill Creevey Kevin Kavanagh, Andrew Byrne, Paddy Casey, Robbie Mockler, Danny Metadjer, Gemma Kerr, Mark O Reilly, Liam Sheehy and myself. We took a plane to London Stanstead to meet up with others going from England. From there we got a plane to Geneva. Once there we had to get buses to Cern where we were to stay for the next few days. We finally arrived at Cern and we all got our rooms in the same block.

Friday came and brought snow. There was nothing planned for us to do so we all broke into groups and went round Geneva after playing around in the snow for awhile. People went into Geneva for shopping and sight seeing as it is a really nice city. Our group found a park with huge chess and draughts sets and also a play ground with many different slide and swings to mess on. Everyone just stayed in the hostel that eveningand relaxed.

On Saturday we all went to the Research Facility(the reason for our trip) quite early in the morning. We were broken into groups of bout 10 and given the grand tour and told all about it. We didn't grt to see all of the facility as it is way too big but we all saw enough to make it well worth the visit. In the afternoon we had nothing planned so again we all went to Geneva and Tom decided to buy "Twister" and we all spent the rest of the night playing. The other groups from England were going back in the early hours of Sunday morning so some poeple stayed up to see them off.

Sunday arrived and we all had a well deserved lie in till the afternoon and then we set of for Geneva again. We looked around the city. It was a sunday and no where was open so we went to the lake and walked around it. We sent a while going around the city and eventually ended up back in the hostel playing Twister (and yes there is a trend forming here) That was our last night in the hostel in Cern for the next morning we were to set off for home leaving Cern, Geneva and Switzerland behind us.

Monday morning and we all headed for the Airport sad to be leaving. We got our flight safely to London Stanstead. While there we realised we had time to spare so we had a few games of Twister in the Airport, as you do. Naturally we got a few weird looks, but we didn't care. We arrived back in Dubin on monday evening and most were glad to have landed but were sorry that the weekend was over so soon. In the airport most people left but a lucky few stayed and again played Airport Twister(tm) Tomo the experienced twister player that he is won all the games.

Everyone had a great time on the trip, it was an unforgettable experience.
