Pool Competition in the Hub - Wednesday 13 April 2005

A group of postgrads got together to challenge each other in some friendly yet competitive games of Pool. All who attended enjoyed a great evening with some close games towards the end where prize-winning opportunities depended on the outcome of some final and penultimate games. As with all competitions, there can only be one winner and that person was George Dalton from Mechanical Engineering. Congratulations George!

Second and Third places went to Steve Beirne, also of Mechanical Engineering and Peter Sheerin from the Physics department, but it wasn't an easy win. They both ended up with the same points after all games had been played so it went to a playoff, where Stephen just managed to clinch the victory for 2^nd place. Congratulations to all who won and it'll be interesting to see how long George's title of Postgrad Pool Champion will last in the next competition.
