Command line SMS from Meteor
[ 16 Jan 2004 ]
[Perl]
A command line perl script to send SMS via meteor's online service by masquerading as a browser. Based on the concept by Mackers, which is a far more feature-filled thing alltogether.
Update: 11 March 2005

The script stopped working at some point. I don't use it that much so was unaware. Anyways, it's fixed now and I've sent mackers an updated version integrated with his script.

Several months pass after meteor have subtly changed their website somehow,
and a fix is nowhere in sight due to my spare time being smothered with work,
despite interest from several people. (Sorry!)
But from the dark a hero emerges...... Cuan at skynet has once again come to the
rescue and sorted it out. Three cheers! Much appreciated. I really should buy this
man a pint.
I've also added a link to the integrated version of mackers' O2sms which Cuan has updated to include the meteor functionality.
The download has been updated to reflect this.
---
At the moment it takes your username/password, a destination number, and a message. It has been integrated with Mackers' script, and you may want to grab that version (Which supports O2, Vodaphone, and now Meteor)
The required perl modules are the same as per Mackers' script.
Thanks to Cuan at the UL Computer Society for the work on integrating this with O2Sms.
