25th of Jostamont 700. On the Seas near Tama City Ungk leaned against the narrow fore-top mast and peered out across the ocean. As he scanned the seas a ship started to appear out of the haze on the horizon. .Captain vessel to the West. Ungk called down to Vinda Captain of the Gyda. As the vessel grew closer it became obvious that it belonged to the hated Krth. However the Krth are usually clumsy sailors and this ship was making great speed. As the Gyda and Uukgii crew watched the quickly approaching ship, the reason it was travelling so quickly became obvious. It was a Galley, banks of oars were working at a cruel pace to thrust the vessel through along. Even from this distant Ungk could smell the sweat and blood of fellow Uukgii working the Krth vessel. As Ungk realised that the ship was being powered by Uukgii slaves he cried out in rage. The rage of the Uukgii quickly filtered on to the Gyda members of the crew. Vinda took a long look at the Krth ship and gave the order to attack. He signalled the Sraapa Treaty, the Endride II sister ship, then moved to intercept. AS the two Gyda ships started to converge on the Krth.s vessel, the Bggt, the pace of the oar strokes increased and the Bggt started to pull away. However the Wills of Oitir and Owain were with the Gyda and convientent breeze sprang up to push them on at greater speeds. The Sraapa Treaty moved in front of the Bggt to cut it off, as the Endride positioned itself to attack once the Bggt slowed to avoid the Sraapa Treaty. Instead of slowly the Krth accelerated, driving their slaves to a viscous pace. The Bggt crashed straight into the Sraapa Treaty smashing the smaller vessel into a million pieces. Broken timbers, crushed bodies filled the Bggt.s wake. The cries of drowning Uukgii filled the air, along with those Gyda too injured to stay afloat. Vinda looked on in dismay, however the impact had slowed the Bggt. So grabbing his axe he ordered the Endride II along side so he could board. The Endride pulled up next to the Bggt and many Gyda and Uukgii leaped aboard into battle. The combat flared all over the Bggt.s upper decks. The Krth fought fiercely, but Vinda had the fury of Oitir shining form his eyes and his crew battled with amazing skill. Surviving Gyda from the Sraapa Treaty armed with shattered timbers from the beloved ship started to scale the sides of the now stationary Bggt. Vinda cut his way past the Krth crew down into the bowels of the Bggt. With two mighty slashes he shattered the main locking chains constraining the Uukgii slaves. The Slaves joined the battle using their manacles as weapons against their former masters. Against such odds the Krth were soon defeated, the last of their numbers being subdued by the now superior numbers of Gyda and Uukgii. A few Impukaeu led by one Scartle were also captured. The Impukaeu whinged and begged for their lives, which Vinda granted. So after stripping the Bggt of weapons, along most of its oars and sails, and a few other items, the Gyda returned to the damaged Endride II and headed off for repairs. All should know that the Gyda will not tolerate their allies the Uukgii being held in slavery. Also those the consort with the foul slaving Krth will find no friendship with the Gyda. | ||
