15th of Yajuen 700 Endride Fall Gudrid sat on the harbour's edge dangling her feet in sea and half-heartedly repairing a fishing net. She idly gazed out at the fishing skiffs moving in the bay. As her gave drifted towards the headland a much larger vessel came into view. Dropping her net, she stood shielding her eyes to sea the ship clearer. 'The Refuge, the Refuge has returned' she called out to the towns folk within the sound of her voice. By the time the Refuge had moored a large crowd had gathered on the docks. Vinda Helmsman of the Gyda jumped onto the shore harbour to the waiting embrace of many friends and family members. 'People gather all those of the town and come to the temple I have much to tell ye' Vinda bellowed out. Sometime later most of the town had assembled by the temple. Vinda stood up on the steps leading to the sacred pool so that he would be visible to all. 'Friends I have been away for many years, during that time I have learnt many things and met many peoples. But for now I have two pressing things to tell ye. Firstly our fine vessels the Sraapa Treaty and the Endride Fall II have been lost in battle against the foul Krth'. The crowd moaned in grief and then hissed in anger it took Vinda several minutes to calm them so that he could continue. 'However my friends despite our losses we were victorious and even more importantly I bring you this...' Vinda gestured and a large metal cone was handed to him by a shipmate. Vinda raised the cone above his head and splitting into a joyous grim shouted 'I bring ye En!!! This is a powerful that the Brothers told me to quest for so long ago. My friends we must prepare a mighty celebration...' ****************************************************************** 24th of Yajuen A mighty storm lashed the battered shore. As the tumultuous waves crashed down peels of laughter could be heard echoing above the breakers. Oitir my Brother, quite. Look something is happening. The storm faded with unnatural speed. Excellent Brother, look at them. There are many more now. Yes our efforts have indeed come to fruition. | ||
