2nd day of the 2nd toukakan of Hofuhe in the year 678. The Storm roared, Vinda clung desperately to the tiler trying to turn his ship away from a massive oncoming roller. Exhaution clouded his gaze and deadend his arms, but somehow the Endride moved towards safety. The great wave mostly missed the ship but still much water spilled into the hole. The battered crew tried to bail but some were some tired they could hardly move. Lighting flashed, illuminating the tattered sail and as the Thunder boomed Vinda was sure he could here laughter almost hidden by the crack. Again Vinda struggled with the tiller his bloodied hands slipping on the slick wood. He thought back to the bright day so many toukakan before when his father had come to him with a quest. Domalade had said the Owain had come to him in a dream, telling him to find 'Tama City'. The mightiest Gyda sailors were consulted and finally a direction, a captain and a crew were chosen. Vinda had Captained the Endride away from his home on this mighty quest and now his death was near. New lands had been charted, seas crossed it was by far the greatest voyage of any Gyda. But just as the felt they most be getting close they had somehow incurred Oitir's Wrath. The Storm had come from nowhere, in mere minutes the calm seas had transformed into a raging tempest. For a toukakan now the storm had raged. The Endride was totally of course, the sails were in tatters and the hull buckling, however, amavingly not a signal hand had been lost. Vinda was snapped from his reverie by a joyous cry of 'Land'. He desperately tried to steer for shelter, but as suddenly as it had began the strom abated. The Endride struggled into a shelter cove were the crew collapsed and slept for many days. When they awoke they started the long task of repairing their shop and exploring the island. On the far side of the island the found a settlement. Approaching the village they encountered a pleasent looking folk, who intoduced themsleves with 'We are the Nouma of Kahmay House one of the Six Houses of Tama'. 'Oh' said Vinda 'Tama you say'? | ||
