ISSUE 30
Hello. Hey there kids, hows it going. Welcome to the latest issue of S@E.. the best freesheet in the Nations Capital. Theres loads of cool gigs coming up soon in the Funnel Club, including u-ziq, Mixmaster Morris, and Luke Vibert aka Wagon Christ aka Plug. There 's posters and stuff around the place with dates so keep your eyes peeled. Nicholas Saunders, author of the controversial books "E for Ecstasy", "Ecstasy and the Dance Culture" and "Ecstasy Reconsidered" was killed in a car crash in South Africa at the start of the month, theres news about it at the Ecstasy Web Site (www.ecstasy.org) and theres also been a site set up for messages of support or whatever. We might have more on that next month. Techno promoters JDP who have been running Friday nights in the Kitchen hope to start their own label soon enough, hopefully they'll be promoting some home grown stuff. If you're reading this at the Autechre gig on Friday the 13th of Feb. then come up to us and say hello.. Thanks to Greg and Steve at Warp Records for the interview. We also picked up a cool freesheet from stateside called E.X.P., which has loads of ambient/techno reviews and also some local stuff from their side of the water. We hope to have a bit more details on that next issue as well (i.e. unfortun ately we forgot to bring it with us when we're typing this introduction out.. doh..) Our web page has a provisional spot at the moment, thanks a million to Maura Horan for setting it up for us. If you want to take a look at it, it's here. If you want to get in touch with us, our email address is here or snailmail to 10 Whitethorn Road, Artane, Dublin 5.
