Ideas (collected in 2004 - "slightly" outdated...)

We've been getting some great ideas from members of the Postgraduate Society.

Some have come from the Committee (no, really!) and some have come from members via the Discussion Forum. We didn't want to lose them, so we thought we'd put them all together on one page.

FOOTBALL
How can we find out how many Schools/Faculties at DCU have an internal football league? This would be useful information for our league planned for next year.

STATS ON POSTGRADS AT DCU
Can we get statistics about postgrads from Registry? If not, can we start our own survey of postgrads at DCU?

We'd probably want to ask different questions anyway, such as:
COMMON ROOM
What we need is a common room where we can heat up food, make a cup of tea/coffee and chill out. In theory, we have the space for this in the Postgraduate Centre on the ground floor of VB (the postgrad residence building, where the OVPR office is).

The Postgraduate Centre has a comfy common room with fancy tables, couches, huge TV, a snooker room with a full-size snooker table, a multipurpose conference room with chairs and tables and a seminar room with a whiteboard etc.

What the Postgraduate Centre does not have is facilities to heat up food and make tea/coffee. Oh, and it doesn't have many people in it.

If you would like to use the Postgraduate Centre and you are a postgrad at DCU, go to the Campus Residence office - walk past the Spar and turn right after the Sports Centre, follow the walkway left and then turn right into the undergraduate residences (you will see the sign) - ask them for a swipe card for the Postgraduate Centre and pay the nominal fee (possibly 2 EURO).

A POSTGRAD BALL
How can we have a financially viable, yet affordable ball to celebrate all things postgrad? Black-tie of course! In May or June 2004.
