Championship Points System:
DCU Karting will use the following points system for the 2010/2011 season.
1st - 15pts
2nd - 12pts
3rd - 10pts
4th - 8pts
5th - 6pts
6th - 5pts
7th - 4pts
8th - 3pts
9th - 2pts
10th - 1pts
Fastest Lap - 2pts
- The final totals for the year are based on the results of Grand Prix races only. Endurance races where drivers share a kart are not included.
- A win consists of an event win or A final victory only.
- Where the Fastest Lap (FL) cannot be determined by official timing at the venue, no points will be awarded for fastest lap.
- Committee reserves the right to amend the points system before the beginning of any season, with changes to be decided by a majority Committee vote only.
- In the event of 2 drivers finishing the season on the same number of points, the tie will be decided by the following process:
- The position will go to the driver with the most wins as defined above. Where this does not provide a result and where possible, the greatest number of 2nd places, 3rd places etc will decide the outcome.
