Chairman's Review:

August 2009 saw KartSoc take our first abroad trip to Teesside Karting in Middlesbrough for the epic British 24 Hour Endurance Race. It was an amazing weekend, full details of which are here. The race itself was magnificently organised with everything covered, re-fuelling, services, tyre changes, mechanics and most importantly safety.

The track was phenomenal! It was the longest track we had ever raced on at 2.1km and with twin engined karts, much faster than anything else we will race throughout the year, you almost literally flew around. The track had it's fair share of tight hairpins and straights but the overriding feature was that of a 7-Apex Chicane!!!, which could be taken flat-out for those brave and skilled enough. Without a doubt, the experience on this track is incomparable to anything we will do in Ireland and any driver worth his salt should be making a supreme effort to try and make this team next year.
