Clubs & Societies Office
The Clubs & Societies Office is located on the first floor of the Hub and it provides facilities to assist Clubs/Societies Committee Officials in the running of their Club/Society
Abuse of the facilities in the Clubs/Socs office will result in suspension of the facilities(i.e. computer login and swipe card access) and the imposition of fine on the club in question. For this reason remember to keep your login and card secure. Do not open the door for people you don't knowThe office has a photocopier, 4 PCs, a laser printer, 2 phones and 4 meeting rooms which are for official Clubs/Socs Business. From Monday 2nd December, access will be controlled by a swipe card system. It is necessary to fill in a form (available from clubs/socs office) to have your student card programmed so it will allow you access the office. Only authorised club personnel (ie committee members) will be given access.
The 4 PCs are run by CSD (DCU's
Computer Services Dept.). You may only login to these machines using a
club/society novell login. This login will also work on any CSD
administered on campus (library, business school, grattan building) but
you may only have one similtaeneous login with the account.
It works in a similiar manner to the personal login supplied to each student insofar
as it gives you a virtual (H:\) drive for storing files relevant to the
club in a central and accesible location. The printer is networked to
all four PCs and we hope to shortly install GPAS software which will
offer us reports on printing and enable us to allocate a printing
allowance to clubs.
The photocopier is for photocopy official club documentation and each
club is assigned an account number in the form of a code for logging
into the photocopier, each club has been allocated 25 Euros of a
photocopying budget.
There are two phones, one of which only permits local calls and the
other permits calls to Irish numbers (incl. mobiles). If clubs require
to make international calls, they may do so by arranging the call with
Una Redmond.
The 4 meeting rooms, may all be booked through the Student's Union
reception, you may bring guests to meetings but they are not allowed to
sue the facilities in the Clubs/Socs Area.
