Coaching Contracts
During the summer, the SCC implemented a new policy whereby all coaches must be contacted to the SCC in order to be paid by the SCC.
The reasoning behind this is to offer stability to the position of the coach and to increase the quality of coaching available to DCU Clubs. It will be a key element of the SCC's Health & Safety Policy and they offer the SCC as well as the individual clubs some legal protection.
A few pointers for clubs completing the contacts
1) The standard SCC template be used at all times, other than
inserting the correct club name, no amendments/alterations can be
made without the agreement of the SCC.
2)The legal responsibilities must be attached to the contract as
it forms an integral part of what the coach is signing. A copy of
the coaches qualifications must also be attached.
3) The contract can only be signed by the SCC Chairperson, Ciarán
MacAnnraoi and the coach must come to meet Ciarán, during the
meeting, they will be countersign the contact. If the Ciarán and
the coach are unable to arrange a meeting, an SCC official (ie your
rep/Siobhan/Una) may witness the signing of the contract by the coach
and they will subsequently witness the signing by SCC chairperson
4) There are 2 different contracts available one is for the a permanent
coach with set hours, the second is for a casual coach (i.e. a suitably
qualified member. They are both accompanied by the legal responsiblities
document, all three can be downloaded below.
5) 3 copies of the completed and signed contract will be generated, the
SCC keeps the original and a copy will be made available for the coach
and club.
6) No coaching money can be released by the Clubs/Socs Finanace
Officer until the contracts are signed.
The contracts are available here in Word format, if anyone requires pdf or another format, it can be made available on request.
